The Dr. Carl-Dieter Oschmann Gold Medal Collection of

COLOMBIA

Dr. Carl-Dieter Oschmann started collecting stamps at age 14 just after the 2nd World War.

Later as a representative of a large international chemical company,

business allowed him to travel extensively around the world with long-term commitments

in Ecuador (1957-1962), Colombia (1966-1969) and Australia.

Whilst overseas Dr. Oschmann found like-minded friends through philately. He started a new collection

in each country that he lived in and welcomed him. The culture and philately of Colombia and Ecuador

especially captured Dr. Carl-Dieter Oschmann.

After returning to Germany he continued to build up his collections. Many exhibits and publications followed,

particularly in connection with the Munich Stamp Club. His various collections have been successfully shown

in 22 stamp exhibitions. His Colombia Collection was awarded Large Vermeil and Gold in National and

International Stamp Exhibitions and Corinphila is privileged to offer the collection here.

To have a better chance of being successful as a postal bidder we recommend setting a limit for the total amount of your purchases (excl. 20% buyers premium): for example, bidding on a range of lots with a total amount of CHF 10’000 and setting

a limit of CHF 7’500 for your purchases means that the total for lots knocked down to you will not exceed the limit you have set. We know from experience that postal bidders are rarely successful on all lots. On the other hand, you might have been interested in other lots as well, but not knowing which lots would be knocked down to you and being worried to spend more than a certain

amount, you did not bid on them. Giving a total purchase limit (see also the Bid Form in this catalogue) enables you to have a better chance of being a more successful postal bidder!
