The Victor Coenen A.E.P. International Exhibit Collection

‘CRNA GORA’ MONTENEGRO 1874 - 1916Corinphila is privileged to have been chosen to offer the ‘Crna Gorna’ collection of Montenegro, which has

been exhibited very successfully at „Efi ro 2008“ in Bucharest, in Sofi a in 2009 and at „Antwerpia“ in 2010.

The scope of the collection cannot be justifi ed by the single items offered here, as much of the wonderful

research into these complicated issues from 1879 to 1913, has been deliberately left in lots, on the original

album pages, in order to keep the exceptional specialised studies in a manner that will ensure that the know-

ledge and discoveries made by the present owner can be retained and passed on to the buyers in this sale.

Victor Coenen has collected stamps and postal history from Montenegro for many years. He has

concentrated no only on the fi rst issues but also on the later overprinted issues, which have always fascinated

him as a serious collector and philatelist. This specialized collection contains Essays and plate proofs,

different printings, plate reconstructions, varieties of perforation, imperforates and postal history.

Victor Coenen is internationally involved in philately. He is a member of some of the most renowned Philate-

lic Stamp Clubs and Philatelic Societies including the Academie Europeénne de Philatélie (A.E.P.), Club de

Monte-Carlo and the Collectors Club of New York.

The Montenegro collection has been shown at various international exhibitions, including EFIRO Bucharest

2008, Sofi a/Bulgaria 2009, Antwerp 2010 and London 2010.
