I personali don’t like the shirring method, having elastic thread as the lower thread. But zig-zag sewing overan elastic was SO time consuming and annoying, keeping the thread in place and trying not to sew over itand so on… until I got creative

Step 1 — Preperation

Cut the straw into a size thats suitable for you, tape the straw to the sewing machine so the lower end will beas accurately at the centre of the zig-zag stich as possible (so it would run in the middle of the stich). Run theelastic thread through the straw and sew. Thats it.
