Breeders commentsThe rapid adoption of the wheat varieties Kord CL Plus and Grenade CL Plus, and Scope CL barley has highlighted the important role that Intervix® tolerance plays in your integrated weed management strategy.

Hatchet CL Plus (RAC1843) compliments this suite of varieties, adding an AH, CCN resistant, short season wheat variety into the set of Intervix® tolerant cereals you can now pick from. Hatchet CL Plus is even quicker to flower (by two days) than its main parent Axe, so is likely to suit environments where terminal drought stress is frequently encountered. This fast maturity may also be used to grower’s advantage when managing weed-problem paddocks, allowing an extra knockdown to be introduced prior to sowing Hatchet CL Plus. Combined with its early vigour, Hatchet CL Plus is a useful tool for managing the impact of weeds on your farm.

Clearfield® SystemHatchet CL Plus has been specifically developed to carry two genes for tolerance to Clearfield® Intervix® herbicide. Intervix® is a member of the imidazolinone chemical family with Group B mode of action, offering one-pass post-emergent knockdown and residual control of many major grass and broadleaf weeds. Intervix® Herbicide is available via the Clearfield® Agricentre Agency system, administered by BASF. For more information visit www.agro.basf.com.au of Toll Free 1800 558 399.
