The HPECHU has student ambassadors from different high schools across the counties to help spread the word about smoking and its effects.
Why is it Important? The HPECHU gives people the ability to find
clinics that can help with medical problems they may be facing, along with help clinics such as: quitting smoking and sexual health
If the HPECHU was not in effect, the residents of all the counties that it provides too would not have a reliable source, near by to them, to which they can get health and safety tips.
Parents can also get information on different topics involving their children and themselves.
FundingThe HPECHU is funded by the Ontario Provincial
Government.
The provincial government also funds some of the vaccines that the HPECHU gives out to the residents of the counties.
Last Time in the NewsThe Belleville Intelligencer ran a story that
mentioned the HPECHU wherein a visitor to the Prince Edward County was diagnosed with West Nile
The story also mentions how the HPECHU found mosquitos in Belleville that are West Nile Positive, but say that the risk is minimal.
The story was published on September 23, 2013
