In recent times, he has trained ESOS Lead Assessors in Transport Energy Auditing at the request of the UK Government’s Environment Agency, led the publication of EN 16247-4 Europe’s transport energy audit standard and contributed to ISO50004.Since 2005, Conor’s day job has been helping business’ save fuel and manage their energy usage for profit and reduced emissions.

Karl has worked primarily in systems design and development with particular focus on integration of An Post’s retail Post Office, PostPoint and web channels with a wide variety of third party customer organisations in banking and financial services, local and central government, utilities and mobile telcos. Karl is currently Chief Enterprise Architect in An Post having previously held the position of CTO in PCI and as part of his portfolio has overall responsibility for Information Security in An Post. PCI was one of the earliest organisations in Ireland to formally adopt ISO 27001 having been formally certified since 2003. An Post achieved certification in 2013 and Karl has spearheaded the programmes to achieve and sustain certification in both organisations.

2.10Pm mark adair // mason Hayes curran – senior associateMark is a Senior Associate on the Technology law practice group at Mason Hayes & Curran in Dublin. He acts for clients in Ireland and internationally on a broad range of complex technology and telecommunications transactions. He has a particular focus on the areas of cloud computing, software and fintech. Mark has developed deep subject matter knowledge and experience in these areas and often works at the cutting-edge of law and technology when assisting clients in establishing innovative new digital and online products and services. He also has expertise negotiating on behalf of users and suppliers in relation to global technology projects and outsourcing. Mark has presented across Ireland on managing the legal and business risks in cloud computing and regularly coaches organisations on how to negotiate and win better positions in their technology and telecommunications contracts. Mark is a graduate of the University of Cambridge and the University of Sydney.

He implemented and achieved certification to the ISO27001 Information Security Standard in Revenue in 2009 and the ISO22301 Business Continuity Standard in 2010. Revenue continues to retain these standards.

roHan singLa // manager Rohan Singla is a Manager in Grant Thornton’s I.T advisory practice and plays a key role in the provision of cyber security services. He advises clients in Ireland and internationally on a range of technology, cyber security, technology fraud and risk issues including cyber security assessment and breach response. He has acted in various security roles for several clients in Ireland. In addition, he has held software development and testing roles in the financial industry and start-up firms in India and Ireland. Rohan holds an MSc in Computer Science from University College Dublin, Ireland and a B.E in Computer Science from University of Mumbai. Rohan lectures on cyber-crime and secure development at Institute Technology of Blanchardstown as part of the M.Sc. in Digital Forensics and Security. Rohan is a Certified Ethical Hacker, Certified Management Consultant, ITIL v3 and six sigma certified.

andreW Harbison // director - digitaL forensics Andy joined Grant Thornton in 2009, having previously established and led the IT forensics units at two Big Four firms. image006.pngHe is the most experienced computer forensics investigator in private practice in Ireland. He has completed in excess of 350 separate computer investigations for clients ranging from multinational companies and major financial services companies to small and medium sized enterprises and private individuals. He has innovated a number of important IT investigative techniques and seen them put into Irish precedent. He is the country’s most experienced electronic discovery practitioner and has completed dozens of e-discovery assignments under Irish, UK and US rules of evidence. He has recently written chapters on computer fraud and electronic discovery for the Law Society of Ireland Solicitors’ Practice Guides, and advised the Law Society committee on electronic discovery.
