HARVESTING SUCCESS BY USING CAMBRIDGE ROLLERS BY KNOCHE

AT THE END THE RESULT COUNTS. AT THE BEGINNING KNOCHE.

BEFORE: FALLOW LANDAFTER: DANCE FLOOR

For the fine tuning in the area of soil tillage our Cambridge roller operates reliably,

even in case of many clods.

Whether re-compacting of the germination horizon, breaking up of clods if there

is puddling, closing of voids in order to protect the soil from snails and root voles,

formation of a crumb structure on the soil surface or rolling down frozen seeds

in spring, the versatile Cambridge roller manufactured by KNOCHE is an indis-

pensable working tool in the area of tillage and soil preparation.

High dead weight, shafts made of special steel with a diameter of 50 mm,

possible working widths from 1,40 m to 12,20 m and high-precision and robust

ball bearings facilitate efficient soil tillage. Short components facilitate an

automatic and precise adaption to ground contours of the roller and the

reduction of bearing loads and shaft stresses. The result is good soil tillage

across the entire working width as well as even re-compacting of the soil at

working speeds of 8 to 12 k.p.h.

Apart from the conven-

tional Cambridge roll

ring we offer various

Crosskill rings.

THE RING MANUFACTURED BY KNOCHE –

THE PERFECT INTERFACE TO THE SOIL

In connection with weight and working speed the ring

diameter of 510 mm has proven effective. It makes the roller

easy to pull, guarantees a high area efficiency and confirms

the following: Larger rings do not automatically guarantee

better results. Due to five spokes the cleaning ring operates

reliably – even in case of sticky soils. The corrugated outer

ring ensures that seeds are pressed or rolled down in a

better way. It also promotes tillering in the germination

horizon. Existing crusts are well broken up this way. By the

way, their heavy quality makes the rings resistant to stones

and facilitates high pressure on the soil surface.

HOW DOES THE CAMBRIDGE ROLLER OPERATE?

Our rollers break up and crush the clods on the

soil surface and leave an optimal soil structure for

sowing. Crumbly, loose soil in the topsoil prevents

puddling and wind scours. Solid and fine soil in the

lower soil layers ensure that the seeds are implanted

in the ground in the best way. In order to promote

seedling growth, heat, air and water are necessary in

a balanced way. Good soil quality provides an optimal

basis to achieve good development of the seedling.

1 Pressing cereal seeds down by means of the

roller: The corrugated ring breaks up clods, cuts the

shoot for a better tillering and closes voids in order

to ensure optimal supply of nutrients to plants.

2 The breaker ring cleans the roller and keeps it

free from pollutions. Seedbed preparation: Crumbly,

loose soil creates the best conditions for sowing.

TYPES, FACTS AND FIGURES

Convincing construction: The frames and carrier

elements have a very sturdy construction so that the

lateral rollers can operate in a floating working position.

Thus, Cambridge rollers manufactured by KNOCHE

guarantee good soil tillage across the entire working

width and an even re-compacting of the soil. The

short components facilitate a precise adaption to

ground contours of the Cambridge roller and the

reduction of bearing loads and shaft stresses. All

rollers manufactured by KNOCHE are of outstanding

quality – including comparison with competitors –

and have been improved on the basis of their use in

practical application over many years.

Agricultural machines with depth guidance render possible a high-yielding harvest: Cambridge rollers manufactured by KNOCHE combine flexible fields of application with high-quality materials.

REAR-MOUNTED OR FRONT- MOUNTED CAMBRIDGE ROLLER

ROLLER WITH SINGLE-JOINT PENDULUM AXLE

CW-F 51/3024 front-mounted/rear-mounted. It is possible to change from front attachment to rear attachment via a simple bolt setting.

For the three-point hydraulic system KNOCHE

Maschinenbau manufactures Cambridge rollers

in working widths up to 3 m, in a combined

form of front attachment/rear attachment or

simple rear-mounted Cambridge rollers.

Components from the larger series are the

technical basis for these rollers:

W stable carrying frame

W strong shafts made of special steel with

a diameter of 50 mm

W high-precision and robust ball bearings

W stable three-point frame

W front attachment/rear attachment with

stabilising spring

CW E 51/6355

W working width of 6,30 m

W 3 components

W 55 rings

The entire folding process is carried out

by means of only one double acting and

one single acting control valve.

Transport brackets reduce the relief of the

entire hydraulic system during the trans-

port. The entire folding process is carried

out by means of only one double acting

and one single acting control valve.

CW B 51/1207

W working width of 12,20 m

W 7 components

W 107 rings

Long trailer drawbar for quick turning on

the headland. Tyres with a rim diameter of

19 inches to guarantee high load capacity

and stable standing on the field as well as

good transport properties while positioning

the roller.

In case of the type CW B 51/1207 all components are centrally mounted in springs. Thus, the rollers facilitate an even re-compacting of the soil even on large fields as well as a good adaption to the soil surface on hilly ground.

CW D 51/9280

W working width of 9,20 m

W 5 components

W 80 rings

A working width of 9,20 m is optimally

suited for tramline systems of 18 m,

27 m or 36 m. The entire folding

process is carried out by means of

only one double acting and one single

acting control valve.

In case of a working width from 7,80 upwards the roller is folded in a synchronous way in order to ensure a safe folding process on slopes.

The lifting cylinder presses the roller frame to the wheels.

The pendulum arms are folded up. The pendulum arms are deposited on the transport bracket. This reduces the relief of the hydraulic system. The transport can begin.

Packer roller Crosskill manufactured by KNOCHE

By using the packer roller Crosskill manufactured by KNOCHE you can

save one operation, because levelling and rolling are carried out in

one pass. For the seedbed preparation and the levelling of the soil it is

recommended to use the packer roller Crosskill of the modular system

– with a working width up to 9,20 m and five components. Due to their

intensive vibration effects the strong spring-loaded tines break up the

clods and level the seedbed. The right angle can be easily and safely

adjusted via the hydraulic adjustment.
