Welcome back everyone! The summer “flew” by and I have to say

that I quite enjoyed the “carefree hours” that I spent…and the cooler weather!

I look forward to this year with eagerness and expectation! The Table Officers met in August to prepare for our September Executive Meeting. Many initiatives were discussed including our theme for the year, Public Awareness, outreach, upcoming committees for membership involvement and connecting to sister RWTO branches.

At the forefront is excitement about the complementary “Be Our Guest” event on September 24th. The Be Our Guest Committee, chaired by Linda Sargeant, is working hard on the final details. This publicized event (through the Mountain News) takes place at Mount Hamilton Christian Reformed Church on Upper Wellington near Stonechurch Road from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Come and join us for fun and friendship!

We are pleased to report that this year our RWTO Branch is a proud sponsor of the Ancaster Film Fest, which was initiated by Public Relations Chair, Hope Leon. The AFF reflects our motto of Caring and Sharing as all of its profits go to local charities. Check out our Sponsorship Link on the AFF website!

We are at the beginning stages of determining how we can involve our membership to have input into outreach projects. You will be hearing more about this later.

An invitation is being sent to our some of our sister branches to join us at the “Celebration at the Station” on December 3rd at Liuna Station. We look forward to meeting these ladies and sharing! The “Over 90’s” and “Mother/Daughter Pairs” are also being honoured at this event.

I encourage you to go on-line to view our wonderful Website that Mardie Panabaker, Communications Convenor, has developed You will have access to our branch Constitution and Policy and Procedure Manual. If you are considering a position on the Executive, you will be able to read the various roles and responsibilities in both these documents. You will also be able to view the 2014-2015 Program

Brochure, Interest Groups and contacts and Calendar that will give you a good idea of how our branch operates on a monthly basis. Oh yes, you will also be able to view our great photo gallery! Please go to: www.rwto.org/branches/hamiltonwentworth.asp.

*The 2014-2015 Membership Form is also on the Website. Please remember that your $50.00 RWTO Branch membership fee is due in September. If you have RWTO Insurance, current membership is important in order to make claims. And please take advantage of the short “Open Window” to opt for Insurance with no medical!

Please think about getting involved in our local RWTO Branch. There are many ways to do this and the door is open!
