Index A Letter from our President

Greetings Harvest Homecoming festival attendees!

It has been my great pleasure to be the Harvest Homecoming President for 2016 and will be another great pleasure for the upcoming 2017 Festival!

This is the festival’s 50-year anniversary and I’m the fortunate person to be President for 2017. This year will prove to be special in many ways, especially the events and tipping our hat to all the wonderful festival attendees for the past and future, we are there for all.

I am excited for all of our events including, but not limited to: The Great Harvest Homecoming Parade, The Pumpkin Decorating Contest, The Booth/Vendor areas, The Baking Contest, The Baby Crawl, The Big Wheel Race, The Children’s Tractor Pull, The Baby Photo Contest, The Children’s Pageants, The Costume Contests, The Main Stage for showcasing local performers, for The Kids Day in the Tent, The Business Luncheon, The Car Show, and the Riverfront Concerts.

As alway, there is the Gold Pin program, where this year’s winner will receive a seven-day cruise for two!

These are just touching on the great events available, made possible by the Harvest Homecoming Sponsors, Officers, VPs, Directors and Volunteers.

You will see a change to our headquarters building with a new mural on the Elm Street side and we have renovated the inside for better service. We will continue to change to keep this the best festival now and for years to come!

Again, we are celebrating our 50th year and have even more to look forward to this year!

Peace, and enjoy!

Bradley H. Needham Harvest Homecoming President 2016/2017

Mission StatementHarvest Homecoming is a group of volunteers dedicated to providing a family oriented festival. It unites the community in a spirit of fellowship and is committed to continuous improvement.

Harvest Homecoming - A Local LegacyHonored by the Library of Congress Bicentennial Local Legacies Project in 2000, the Harvest Homecoming festival draws hundreds of thousands of visitors to New Albany, Indiana, and has been thriving and growing for 50 years.

The festival was conceived as a means of bringing the people of Southern Indiana together to share in its wealth of talent, historic background, and beauty.

What is now over a week of events began as a three-day “Pumpkin Festival,” a civic effort by the Tourism Bureau of the New Albany Chamber of Commerce. It is now run exclusively by Harvest Homecoming Festival Associates, Inc., a non-profit organization fully operated by volunteers and sponsors.

Thank you for participating in and your support of the 2017 Harvest Homecoming Festival.
