Abstract
This paper elaborates and/or give a brief summary of how a small vibrant logistic
company, owned by the Harrington’s, which is also a very dignified, and ambitious family;
and who really enjoys delivering and/or transporting (fruits and vegetables) on a weekly
basis to customers. Forty years of traveling throughout the New England region, including
locally, has really taken a toll on some of the patriots of the family.
However, this journey has been such a real pleasure and adventure, because it was well
worth every dime and mile to see the faces of storeowners when we arrived to bring them
their merchandise. Although this miniature business had experience some financially
struggles over the past four decades, they still were able to survive through many difficult
hardships, and competition for all those years.
With that being said, some of the senior leaders of the company decided that it was time to
retire from the weekly operations of logistics, and appoint someone else who had the same
tenacity and/or passion that they still have!! But to oversee, and expand the business to
another level, for the next fifty years.

BACKGROUND
Hartford North-End Distribution Center
Patricia (Zene)-Harrington grew up in the north end part of Hartford, CT. She attended
(Hartford) Public schools located in the district where she lived until 8th grade, and then she
decided to attend a technical school for a couple of years. However, after finally graduating from
Hartford Public high school in 1982. She continued to work P.T. for the Hartford Insurance

Nevertheless, she decided to return back home to her roots, after working for several major

History
Hartford North-End Distribution Center - was established five decades ago, by Patricia’s
husband family in the north-end part of Harford. This small company provided logistic services
throughout the northeastern states (Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Maine) and of course
Connecticut. This distribution company was responsible for the transportation of (fruits and
vegetables) from small to medium size grocery stores on a weekly basis. The Harrington’s was
very proud of their petite business back in the day, because they knew those stores was really
appreciative, and also depended and/or relied on their weekly deliveries. This also helped those
grocery stores maintained fresh produce to sell to their customers, and keep them happy.
