flexibility to complete work from anywhere.

• Students may participate in all Harrisburg School District extra-curricular activities and special events, and receive a Harrisburg diploma.

• Students are taught a high-quality, standards-based curriculum by PA-certified teachers. One-on-one support and tutoring will be available for all students.

• High School students will have the opportunity for dual enrollment in college classes, Advanced Placement courses, access to our Gifted Program, and internship opportunities.

Technology • Harrisburg School District provides each student with a free Chromebook • Students and parents will have access to IT support Monday through Friday

during regular school hours.

• Orientation for all new students will be conducted to ensure a smooth start.

Student Support and Resources• A full-time counselor will assist each student with academic advising,

planning, selecting courses, and ensuring each student works towards successfully meeting their academic requirements.

• Each student will meet with a staff member for an orientation of HVLA. • A licensed social worker and/or counselor will communicate regularly

with students to emphasize social and emotional learning opportunities. • Home school materials such as workbooks will be provided. • Tutoring is available throughout the week and on Saturdays. • Students will learn Digital Citizenship and how to be successful

as a member of the online school community.• Elementary students will work with a “Learning Coach” at home to provide

the structure and guidance for success.

Campus Connections and Involvement• All students have the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities

such as: Athletics, Cheerleading, Prom, Band, Chorus, Instrumental Music, ROTC, Field Trips, Homecoming, National Honors Program, National History Day, Graduation, Literacy Nights, Clubs, Assemblies, Picture Day, and more.

• All HVLA students will follow the District calendar. • All HVLA students who graduate will receive a Harrisburg School District
