HUMC AT PASCACK VALLEY HOSPITAL On Wednesday April 18 2012 I attended the ceremony that officially started the renovation that will result in the opening of the Hackensack University Medical Center at Pascack Valley in Westwood The site when completed will provide 128 private rooms in addition to various high skilled medical services The re-opening of the hospital has been a long struggle which has been well worth the effort I want to thank all the residents of Harrington Park who supported the project

FORMAL COUNCILMAN SHORTAL REMEMBERED On Sunday May 6 2012 the Borough of Harrington Park ceremonially changed the name of SHORT PLACE to SHORTAL PLACE Several people in attendance spoke about Robert Shortalrsquos contributions that helped improve the quality of life we enjoy in Harrington Park The new sign posts will help remind future generations of how lucky we have been to have had Bob Shortal as an active member of the Harrington Park community

UP-DATE ON THE ATLANTIC ACCESS PIPELINE PROJECT The Williams-Transco organization has postponed field activities related to the modifications proposed for their gas pipeline Based on current available information the project will be delayed for at least a year The adjusted schedule will provide new service in 2012 Please know that I have requested public hearings on both local and regional levels so those towns and people who are affected will have the opportunity to express their concerns andor ask questions related to the project On Tuesday May 8 2012 the Bergen County League of Municipalities supported my request by passing a resolution in support of adequate public hearings on the project I will keep you informed as to developments in the future

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2012 CHAMPIONS Harrington Parkrsquos 5th GRADE Girls Basketball travel Team are the champions of the Bergen Travel basketball League The young ladies finished first place in the high level of competition with a record of 13 and 3 We will be honoring the team members at the Mayor and Council meeting on May 21st at 7pm
