We took a walk on the wild side!Residents enjoyed a trip to the West Midlands Safaripark on the 9th July. The trip was a fantastic way forthe residents to see the magnificent wildlife the parkhad to offer from the comfort of our own HarperFields minibus. The residents were amazed to seegiraffes, elephants, deer and the wonderful whitelions. Residents even had the opportunity to feed thegiraffes and zebras from the minibus. This isdefinitely a place we will return to later in the year.

West Midlands Safari Park Trip

Our annual summer fayre held on the 27th of July was a huge success, this year raising £472.00 forour local charity: The Warwickshire and Northampton Air Ambulance.

The fun filled day included a mobile farm with goats, sheep, rabbits, ducks and a dog! As well asmany fund-raising stalls with exciting games, tombola and a raffle. Residents and visitors enjoyedrefreshments whilst sitting in the sunshine. The day was complete with a 1940's style band and anextremely competitive egg and spoon race and sumo-wrestler-space-hopper-race which the staff took part in, much to the resident’s amusement!

We would like to say a huge thank youto all of the volunteers thathelped to make the day a success.

We had a hoot . . .Residents enjoyed a trip to the Severn Valley Railwayon 23rd July. We started off the day by eating ourlovely picnic at the old-fashioned train station atKidderminster. The staff were dressed in traditionalattire and the train station was littered with old-fashioned memorabilia that the residents werefascinated by. We continued onto the steam trainand ventured across the Severn Valley, passingthrough rolling countryside and the WestMidlands Safari Park, that we had visited twoweeks earlier. We visited the steam train museumin Arley and explored the royal carriage. Theresidents even had the opportunity to sit in thetrain drivers’ seat and see how it all works. Weconcluded the day back where we started; atKidderminster train station where we sat and

enjoyed fish and chips. The weather was gloriouswhich made the day even more perfect.
