Understanding IEC61000 for Harmonics Compliance
IEC61000 applies for loads < 16A. It is a standard to : 1) Classify the Loads 2) Set max permissible
limits of harmonics for each type of classication
voltage
time
Full wave rectier stage waveforms;

HARMONICS STANDARDSOF DIFFERENT EQUIPMENTS
(according to IEC61000)
There are four classes of equipments
Class A: Balanced three phase equipments
Household appliances, excluding equipment
identied by class D
Tools excluding portable tools
Dimmers for incandescent lamps
Audio equipments
Everything else that is not classied as B, C, or D
