LastweektheTop10SPIachieversinYears7and8,whohadearnedtheirplaceontheScholarshipRewardtripduringtheWinterTerm,weretakentotheScienceMuseumandIMAXcinema.WhilstattheScienceMuseumpupilsenjoyedthe‘Wonderlab’gallerywhichentailedliveexperimentsandotherinteractiveactivitiesinvolvingscientificphenomena.AttheIMAXcinematheythenwatchedthefilm‘OurBeautifulPlanet’with3Dglasses!

Mr Bothwell,Faculty Leader for World Languages, and Mr Clayton, Assitant Headteacher, arepreparinganeventfulweekforourvisitors.

In other international links, Iwas very proud to receive awonderful letter from theMinistry of Education inLithuania,thankingusforhostingstudentsfromLithuanianschools;theyalsoprovideduswithlotsofwonderfulfiction books from Lithuania! I’d like to thank Ms Bosiene, who hails from Lithuania, and Mr Malinski,CoordinatorforEAL,fortheirsupportoftheseimportantlinkswithothercountries.

You’llbeawarethattherearealotofhealthwarningsinthepressatthemoment,abouttherisksassociatedwithdrinkssuchas‘RedBull’and‘Monster’foryoungpeople.I’m pleased to say that we banned these drinks severalyearsago,andwe’regratefulforthesupportofparentsinthismatter. You’ll know from the ParentHandbook thatweconfiscatethesedrinksifseen,andwillalwaysprovidestudentswithwaterifwedoso.
