March month plays an important role in all the organizations of India. During the month the Financial Year is closing. Many of the students are starting their school annual final exams in March month. In this month we are very happy to present the review of 2014 March.

The District Social Welfare Officer recommends our organization to train a half a day session  on  “Bonded  Labour”  to  the  Tamilnadu  Special  Police  Youth  Brigade  – Tiruvannamalai Unit. The session took place on 7th March 2014. Mrs. Sumathi, consultant from our organization made the session and explained the information with all  the  necessary  data’s  to  the  290  participants.  The  session  took  place  in  the Superintendent of Police Office, Tiruvannamalai.

District Differently Abled Welfare Officer Visit 

The new District Differently Abled Welfare Officer for Villupuram District Mr. Srinath made a surprise visit to our Learning Centre on 14th March 2014. During this visit a staff named Mr. Murugan is accompanied with him.

The officer visited our learning centre to verify and cross check the prospect of our Learning centre. He also verified the National Identity Card of the Children, Staff Attendance Register, Children Attendance Registers.

The Building Grant from the State Government of Tamilnadu is sanctioned Rs. 5 Lac. The initial amount Rs. 2 Lac and the 2nd payment Rs. 1.75 Lac is released previously. After various confirmation and procedure the final payment towards the building grant Rs. 1.25 Lac is released on 26th March 2014.

Know About Velmurgan 

The Child Velmurugan is 5 Years child, Velmurugan is born in 9th Month pregnancy in a normal hospital delivery. He born in one of the good Government Hospital JIPMER, Pondicherry. The birth history shows that after the birth the child is not cried immediately and it continues up to 8 days. On 9th day only he started to cry and cried continuously for one day, during this the child is not able to drink the mother’s milk.  

After this the child is under treatment in the Hospital for 2 months, for 2 weeks the doctors kept him in incubator.

From the age of 2 the child very often got affected with epileptic convulsion, the parent provided the needed medication as per the doctor’s advice.

The child is bed laid, whenever he feels hungry he use to cry for it. He feels very difficult to swallow the solid food, so the parents use to feed him with Milk and Biscuits. He has no head control.

The therapy session started to stimulate the hip control, neck control, early stimulation to achieve the milestones.

The special education session is training to swallow the semi solid food, emotional and socialization.

The parents feel very happy that during the short period they feel the difference, now the child is started to smile with the family members, responding to the family members voices.

The Parent / Relative Gathering  

The gathering and discussion meeting took place on 8th March -2014. The gathering took place in the Hariksha Learning Centre, Avalurpet.

The parents / relatives are informed that whoever not receiving the maintenance grant from the Government are advised to make the Special Bank Account with Passbook, the Birth Certificate and the National Identity Card along with the filled application.

Staff Meeting  

The staff meeting took place on 8th & 26th March, during the discussion we were discussed about the following topics.

The information about the new physiotherapist were discussed in the meeting

The staff members are requested to take the necessary action to obtain the Food Grant, Teachers Salary Grant from the District Differently Abled Welfare Officer, Villupuram

The staff members are requested to take the necessary steps to obtain the caution deposit from the Electricity Board (for Construction of the Building we have to deposit a sum of amount to obtain a temporary electricity connection, when the construction is over they convert the electrical connection into various Tariff and reimburse the balance deposit amount)

The staff members are shared the information about the children activities, developments, quarter goal achievements, parents / relatives feed back

The expenses and the financial situation of the Hariksha Learning Centre is discussed with the staff team members

Due to the early summer and increasing temperature of the summer, the holiday plan is discussed with the staff team members

The proposed plan and travelling schedule of the International Speech Therapist (ODM, France) Training from 14th to 25th July 2014, and International Physio Therapist (KDM France) Training were discussed along with the staff team members

The distance and coverage area, the difficulties and needed arrangements for the school van is discussed with the staff team members

The payment of the Road tax for the school van is discussed with the team members

The difficulties we faced towards the special self help group and abolishment information were discussed with the staff team members

Vehicle Maintenance  

The school van got minor maintenance works, the centre bolt got repair and the maintenance towards this made.

Due to the bad country roads of the villages the school van action (suspension) plate is getting damage very often. This month the damaged suspension plate is made ready.

Local Contribution   

Mr. Senthilkumar and friends from Tiruvannamalai are provided lunch on 4th March 2014

Our continuous supporter Mr. Balu provided the mid time meals on 13th March

Mr. Thulasi, GK Bakery, Avalurpet provided cake to all our children on 27th March

Mr. Karthikeyan provided the mid time meals and 1 carton of Marie Biscuits to our children to share the joy of his marriage day on 28th March.

On 28th of this month Mr.Basker donated his (Brick Information Technologies Private Limited, Chennai) own company Provided Rs. 30,000 towards the learning center running budget.

The continuous efforts of the staff and the parents co-operation in March month the parents / relatives are contributed Rs. 6,900/- towards vehicle running and maintenance costs, as follows

RAINBOW LIFE CHILDREN HOME  

Good Practitioner  

The good practitioner of March 2014 from our Rainbow Life Children Home are M. Chandru among the boys, he shown good interest in studies, games, extracurricular activities and exposing his skills very well and Banupriya among the girls, she is good in her studies, helping others, guiding the juniors, etc.

Achievers  

On 2nd March 2014, Sunday – a District level Karate Tournament is organized in the campus of Aravindhar Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Thenpallipattu, Thiruvannamalai. 22 children from our Rainbow Life Children Home are participated in this tournament. Our children won the third place in the District, the children are encouraged by the medals, certificates.

The appreciation medals and certificates are issued by the Member of Legislative Assembly, Kalasapakkam Constuency, Mr. Agri. Krishnamurti. S.S. The children felt very happy and they are proud to be in the third place in the District.

Educational Information  

March is the important month for every student, because the school annual examinations are starting in the month of March. This plays a vital role for their promotion to the next class / higher education. So everyone is working hard to get good results in their examination.

The Higher Secondary School going children studying in 11th Standard are completed their annual school final examinations from 11th to 28th March.

The students in 10th standard are attending their school final examination from 26th March to 9th April 2014. As this exam is helps them to promote / choose their - higher education / technical education / job oriented education, every student is trying to achieve good score in the examinations.

All other children are preparing well for their school annual examinations. The examination schedule for the student studying from 6th to 9th standard is from 3rd to 16th April 2014. The primary school going children examinations is up to 30th April 2014.

The Diploma Student Thiagarajan’s 1st Year – 2nd Semester examinations will be from 3rd to 9th April 2014. He is preparing very well to attend the examinations.

The professional training for the nurses is provided to Parameswari in various institutions and communities.

The 2nd training she is allotted with the professional clinical nursing training in Sri Karpaga Vinayagar Medical College at chengalpattu (near Chennai). The training is from 17th of March to 14th of April.

The training session is divided into two part, one is from 8.00 am., to 12.30 pm., Parameswari completed this training session successfully. Now she is in the next session that is from 12.30 pm., to 8 pm., she is under training in this session.

Health & Treatment  

M. Asha got health complaints very often; we consulted her with the physician. The doctor suggested for the blood tests and it all are done. The blood test results shows that her Haemogulobin level is low for which the doctor provided with syrup. Now she is regularly taking the syrup every day.

A. Loordhupriya got health problem often for which the doctor suspected that she might get affected with typhoid for which the doctor advised for the blood test. The blood test results shows that she is suffering with Typhoid, the needed medication provided, now she is cured with Typhoid.

Ramya got affected with opportunity sickness fever for which she was consulted with doctor. The needed medication provided to her and now she is cured.

Gopalakrishanan got gold and fever so we bring to hospital need medication provided to his and he is cured,

Government Association  

To obtain the Government registration under Juvenile Justice Act 2000 (children in need of care and protection) we are continuously approaching to various departments. As a continuous process we applied for the Building License (FORM D) with the Thasildhar of Tiruvannamalai in February. Towards this application the R.I. visited our children home two buildings and verified the strength of the buildings, the stability of the buildings, all the infrastructure and the facilities.

The Government of India (Central Government) published the revised Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) a centrally sponsored scheme of Government under Ministry of Women & Child Development. In this scheme the staff salary and children expenses are hiked as par with price hike.

Birthday Celebration  

T. Ramesh celebrated his birthday on 12th March 2014, he distributed the cake to all the children of Rainbow Life Children Home.

Mr. M. Sivabalan, Tiruvannamalai provided the mid time meals to the children of Rainbow Life Children Home on 10th March 2014.

Our continuous regular sponsor Mr. K. Arumugam, B.A., B.L., provided the special lunch to the children on 16th March 2014.

Parents / Relative Information  

Mr. Muniswaran, uncle of E. Selvaperumal visited him on 9th March in our Children Home.

S. Prabagaran’s and Banupriya’s grand father visited him on 9th March. The Children Father visited him on 24th March.

Iswarya,  Sneha,  Amsa  and Asha’s  grand  father P.  Pattu  visited  them on 16th March, Mother Lakshmi Visited on 27th March.

Pandian is taken by the grandfather Mr. G. Ranganathan for the family ceremony on 1st and came back on 4th March.

Maintenance  

The water heater in Rainbow Life Children got repair, it made ready on 16th April. Now it is working properly.

Gopalakrishnan met with a minor accident, the bicycles front wheel is crushed in this accident. The bi-cycle made service and ready to use now.

The office use two wheeler Hero Pleasure met with a minor accident while the staff use for office purpose. The bike is dropped in the service station and needed works are under progress.

Bed and Clothing  

All the children in Rainbow Life Children Home are provided with new Bed sheet, Pillow Covers and the Inners (under wears).

Staff Information 

To provide nutritional, variety, tasty food a lady named A. Anjugam came and attended interview for cook in Rainbow Life Children Home. She said that she will join in the work on 3rd April.

Mobile Library  

An NGO running mobile book lending library. This month this organization brought the mobile Library to our children home, the children are found the suitable books from this library and started to read the books. This helps the children to develop the general knowledge and more informative. During the book delivery two volunteers from Switzerland (Mirjam and beryl) visit our home they made comment on rainbow children home.
