Sustainable Site PlanningEast and West

windows are oriented south to have easier sun control through shading devices.

The south face has solar chimneys to aid ventilation in some of the non a/c spaces.

The height of building is such that the shadow on neighboring buildings is minimized.

Reducing water consumptionAnnual reduction in water consumption by 70%

by using efficient fixtures.

6.25 lac Liters rain water storage tank has been designed in the basement to collect water from the roof and courtyard. Percolation pits designed along the driveway to collect rain water from the driveway, the overflow of which has been directed to the municipal sewer.

Rain water collected is treated by pressure sand filter, activated carbon filter and chlorinated to further use it for drinking purpose, HVAC plant and horticulture.

East and West windows are oriented south, these windows help day light the office spaces on those faces.

Central court and single loaded corridor help provide visual comfort by natural light.

Reducing energy consumption

The south face has solar chimneys to aid ventilation in some of the non a/c spaces.

Misting done in the courtyard to cool the ambient air which is sucked into the building through solar chimneys. The achieved internal air Relative Humidity range from 60% - 75 %

Renewable energy technologies installed on site

42.5 KW SPV plant (with 5 kW B.I.P.V installed above the courtyard) has been installed.

Solar water heater for capacity of 600litres installed for cooking and bathing purpose.

Landscaping

Deciduous trees are planted on the West face of the building to allow winter heat gain while keeping the summer sun out. Evergreen bushes are planted on the North and East to cool the air as it enters the building.

Climbing evergreen creepers are proposed on the south face and inside the building to keep the summer heat gain in check.
