STEM Activities

Grade 6: Hatchet Project Students are working on a STEM project based on the novel Hatchet. Each group was given a different scenario in which they have to build a shelter and hunting or gathering tool in order to survive. Scenarios include being stranded in the Rocky Mountains, Alaskan wilderness, Sonoran Desert, Caribbean island, and a rainforest. The students worked together to research resources found in their environment and created dioramas of their scenario featuring their shelter and hunting tool.
