A little over a year ago, we heard God’s call on our lives and believed He was calling us to Romania. Well we’ve been here a month already and we couldn’t have picked or planned a place anymore fitting for us than here. Thank you Jesus (Koszonom Jezus)! We are settled into our home and feeling very welcomed and a part of the village of Szentkiraly. We have taken part in village life as we have butchered a pig, made homemade noodles and donuts, Vern got to go to the forest to collect wood and help Paul chop for the winter fires, had a “fresh” turkey for a Canadian Christmas Dinner and BarBQed ribs (from our pig) for New Years Eve Dinner. We have even ventured out on our own to the local grocery store and hardware store. We make good use of our google translate on our iphones!! When you

Happy New Year from Romania!A little over a year ago, we heard God’s call on our lives and believed He wascalling us to Romania.  Well we’ve been here a month already and we couldn’thave picked or planned a place anymore  fitting  for us  than here.   Thank youJesus  (Koszonom  Jezus)!      We  are  settled  into  our  home  and  feeling  verywelcomed and a part of the village of Szentkiraly.

Vern has been able to spend some days at Camp Falcon Rock and is excited tobe part of  the development of  this camp.   Gloria was able  to spend a day atcamp helping Tunde  (the camp Administrator) clean to get ready for a rental.  Itfeels good  to be  in  camp ministry again.  It was also neat  for Gloria  to get  tohelp  out  with  Christmas  events  for  the  kids  and  teens  like  the  English  classChristmas  party,  the  Christmas  pageant  costumes  and  the  kids  Christmasevent day in the village.

Christmas  is a very  important part of  church  life here.   There are  two churchservices per day from the 24th27th.  The youth and young adults spend timesinging carols in this village and neighbouring villages as a way to reach out tothose  who  do  not  know Christ.   We were  invited  into many  homes  to  sharemeals  over  the  holidays  and  added  a  few  more  words  to  our  Hungarianvocabulary.  We are truly blessed to be part of this warm, caring village.

The coming months  look busy as construction at  the camp ramps up. We willalso help prepare for mission teams arriving from North American who will behelping with construction at the camp and the summer programs. There will bea mission team here every month from February through July!

We have two prayers requests: 1. Our visas – they need to be in our hands by the end of February2. Learning the language

Thank you for being part of our journey to Romania.
