BBridgeMill Golf Academy “Our Goal is to Help You Enjoy Your Golf More”
Tips From The Pro
Warming Up In A Hurry
The following comes from Harvey Penick and his Little Red Book:
“If you arrive at the course with just a few minutes to warm up before a round, use the time to hit chip shots. The chip shot, being a short version of the full swing, tells your muscles and your golfing brain to get ready to play.
Most average golfers with only a few minutes to warm up will rush to the range and try to hit balls fast. This may loosen up the grease, but it can also ruin your tempo for the day and perhaps implant negative thoughts.
So remember, to warm up in a hurry and arouse your sense of feel or touch, use the time to stroke a few careful chip shots.” We hope to see you soon. Best wishes to you and your loved ones for the New Year! Tom Losinger PGA Master Professional Denise Killeen LPGA Professional Chad Phillips Teaching Professional Golf Academy 770-345-5557

Junior Golf December Scenes!
LGA News
16 Visit the LGA website at www.bmaclga.com.
The 2016 Golf Season finished with our annual Christmas luncheon on Saturday, December 3rd. We started the festivities with cocktails and a social at 11:30am, followed by a delicious lunch prepared by Chef Elliott, with a dessert buffet to complete the meal. The party was then followed by awards presented by Nancy Gillenwater, our Play Dates chair. Winners of the Ringer tournament were: 1st net: Joyce, 2nd net: Arlene; 1st gross: Char and 2nd gross: Bev. Most birdies for the year with 7 was Bev and the longest birdie from 25 feet was Claudette – wow! Honorable Mentions went to Stephanie for her first par, Char for a score of 85, Pat for her lowest score ever of 95 and Miss Caroline Goddard for an eagle! Thanks to Nancy Gillenwater for filling the position of Play Dates this year.
Kelly Cook, our tournament chair, then took over and presented a new award this year and that was the Participation Award. This award was designed to go to the golfer that attended the most tournaments and Girls Night Out programs as well as participating in any and all events our club held this year. The Award for this year went to Becky Royer. We are so lucky to have a member like Becky that is always kind and encouraging to all players and just a delight to be with at all times. Congratulations, Becky!
Next on our agenda was presentation of the Player of the Year award. This award is reserved for the golfer that not only improved their golf handicap, but also went the extra mile in contributing to our club at events and behind the scenes where a lot of the organization goes on. We are so happy to offer our congratulations to Char Bailey – 2016 Player of the Year! Char is also the President of LGA and does such a great job keeping us on track for our goals set by the board of officers. Thanks, Char, for all you do for our club.
We also want to say a sincere thank you to Molly McGrory of ReMax Town and Country, Dr. Linda Force of Gentle Force Chiropractic Center and Arlene Campbell of D.W. Campbell Auto & Tire Services. These ladies and their businesses have sponsored our LGA this year and made it possible for us to have such great tournaments and directory for our members.
Rules Corner Answer
No, Rule 20-3 allows the ball to be replaced by the player, his partner, or the person who lifted or moved it from the original spot. If the ball is replaced by any other person a player incurs a one stroke penalty.

Mobility exercises are a great way to not only improve flexibility but also to optimize physical performance both in and out of the gym. Mobility is simply defined as the degree of freedom of movement around a joint or body segment and is a balance of flexibility, strength, and uninhibited motion. Along with balance and core stability, mobility should be a primary goal of functional movement!
This routine is designed to be used as a warm-up for a workout or as a stand-alone to increase range of motion around key joints while enhancing stability where needed. The exercises in this workout will provide non-stop dynamic movement.
Please join us for this complimentary workout. RSVP to 770-345-2990.

BridgeMill Sixes Service League
2016 was a great year for The BridgeMill Sixes Service League! This past year we organized many successful events to benefit families in need in Cherokee County. These include our Classics for Charity Car show, Relay for Life of Cherokee County, Bunco for Charity, and our BSSL Garage Sale. Our service projects for 2016 included: Give A Kid A Chance, our Food Drive to benefit MUST Ministries, the Summer Lunch Program and our Holiday Caroling event. With your support we continue to help over thirteen different charitable organizations throughout Cherokee County.
Congratulations to our 2016 Member of the Year Elaine Casey. Over the past year Elaine has organized our monthly Ladies Dining Out excursions, co - chaired our Food Drive and first Annual BSSL Bunco for Charity. All these events were very successful thanks to her leadership. We are so fortunate to have Elaine as a member of the BridgeMill Sixes Service League. Thank you Elaine (pictured left) for your dedication to our community!
2017 will bring more opportunities to get involved in the community! Our Golf FORE Charity tournament will be held on Friday, April 21st! Golf FORE Charity is by far our most popular event of the year, so please mark your calendar! This event isn’t just for golfers. We will have a silent auction and many other opportunities to win prizes. For more information, to volunteer or to register as a golfer visit: www.bsslgolf.org
Spring is also the time when we participate in Relay for Life of Cherokee County. This year’s Relay event will be held at Sequoyah High School on Friday, May 12th, 6:00pm. Relay for Life is a night where the community gathers together to fight back against Cancer, celebrate survivors, and remember those we have lost. People from all over Cherokee County join in teams and raise funds at this event and throughout the year for Cancer research, education, and patient services. For more information on our fight against Cancer please go to: http://bssl.org/fundraisers/relay-for-life/ Be sure to look for more exciting events from the BSSL in the months to come!
Our next business meeting will be held Thursday, January 19th, 7:00pm at the Terrace. Come and hear all the great things that are happening with this organization. Visit our website at www.bssl.org, like us on facebook or contact Susan Gaines at [email protected]. We would like to wish all our members, friends, and neighbors a very Happy New Year!
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

As we begin a new year, we want to provide homeowners with a greater understanding of the many resources available to them through both BridgeMill and Heritage Property Management. The BridgeMill website (www.bridgemill.org) and Heritage Edge share some common features such as 24/7 access to the covenants, a downloadable ARC form and guidelines, and copies of the board meeting minutes. As you may have found when paying your dues, Heritage Edge also offers homeowners the ability to check and print their account ledger, setup payment options, check the balance sheets of each month, obtain a copy of the cer-tificate of insurance, and grants them access to the homeowner directory. To access Heritage Edge, go to www.heritageproperty.com and click on “Homeowner Sign In” in the upper right-hand corner. Next click “Create Your Account!”. In order to complete the process you will need a Security Key, used only when creating the account (see the FAQs below for details). Your username will be your email once you have created the account, and your password will be anything of your choice.
As always, please reduce your speed in the neighborhood.
