Poor Goldie! Her life really went down hill when her pet parent

moved and just left Goldie to roam the neighborhood. We were

told that people or kids where terrorizing her once she was left be-

hind. She presently is very timid from the ordeal, but very sweet.

We had her vetted only to find out that she is heartworm positive

and we are getting her treated. She also had something seriously

wrong with her tail. She had to have her tail amputated. While she

was healing, stitches broke open and part of her tail that was left

broke off. She needed another immediate surgery.

She also needed several laser treatment sessions to

help heal the stub that was left of her tail. Her vet

expenses are extremely expensive.

YOUR CONTINUED FINANCIAL SUPPORT makes sure Goldie’s life

and other lives in desperate need are healthy, golden and full of

love and gentleness.

IF INTERESTED IN ADOPTING GOLDIE or any other animals available

for adoption, please contact us. There is one waiting for you.

Please DONATE so we are ready to help animals desperately need-

ing our safety net and love.

Goldie seemed

very scared and

sad during her

vet visit!

Animal Sanctuary Society, Inc. is proud to be a safe haven to animals. We provide vet care, medicine,

surgeries, food, shelter, and other necessities to animals until the day they are adopted. We will not

euthanize an animal because no one is adopting him or her by a certain time. This is possible because of

the generous donations and contributions of people like you. Our sincere appreciation goes out to all

our donors, volunteers, and adopters for making all of this possible!

Miss Garden State helped celebrate Max’s Service Dog Graduation

Max is with an army veteran of

15 years who served in Iraq and

Afghanistan and about 6 years as

a police officer. Max lives with

this veteran and his four children

and wife. They all love Max!

Enjoying the Good Life

Carrie has been given a new name.

She is now known as Lola! Her new

pet parents are Eagles fans and she

enjoyed watching the Super Bowl

with them in her new Eagle’s cheer-

leader outfit provided by the Ani-

mal Sanctuary Society, Inc. ! Her

parents are convinced the Eagles

won the Super Bowl because of her

outfit.

Lola was so excited to be go-

ing home with her new pet

parents she couldn’t stop

wagging her tail. Lola is very

loved and she knows it!

Pet mom says that Lola has

found her voice and loves

to look out the window and

bark at dogs going by.

Blizza has a new name too. It is Figlet.

What an awesomely wonderful person-

ality this adorable cat has! Figlet is en-

joying life in her new home!

Ranger’s new name is

Murphy. He is enjoying

his new life relaxing

out on the deck of his

new home!

Murphy

loves his

new toy

almost as

much as

his new

home!

Kringle, whose new name is Gigi, is sur-

rounded by love in her new home; and

this kitty seems to really be enjoying it!

Sepita, who was

once known as

Snuggles has such

sweet pet parents!

And she is loving all

the affection! Enjoying snuggles at

home

Animals are miracle workers.

They come into our lives for a

purpose.

Blue eyes is now

known as Bubba

the Bassett hound.

He has so much un-

conditional love to

give to everyone in

his new family!

Baxter has become a sports fan and loves watching the Eagles game with

Dad wearing his Eagle’s shirt. When not watching the Eagles, Baxter en-

joys a good nap while cozying up to the electric fireplace.

Trigger underwent approxi-

mately 6 months of service dog

training with this trainer! Trigger at his service dog graduation.

This wonderful veteran

who once broke his back in

training and suffered PTS

from his tours overseas, is

smiling and happy and do-

ing much better with res-

cue dog, Barkley, whose

new name is Trigger.

Trigger’s proud pet

parent sits with him

at graduation.

One of our gifted volunteers, who is a college

student who wants to be an ER Doctor and is

also a fantastic portrait artist painted these 2

pictures of Allison and Bella.

Baxter will help heal his

new pet parent’s hearts

after the death of their

beloved pug from can-

cer.

Allison was adopted by an extremely

understanding husband and wife

who helped Allison get over her fears

of the husband and strange people.

She now enjoys sleeping on the

couch with Dad. She came to visit us,

and was like a new social butterfly.

She even has a great big smile when

she’s sleeping!

It’s all about saving lives. Each life matters. When you rescue an animal from a shelter, you are saving two lives—the one that you are adopting and the next one who needs that space.

Animal Sanctuary Society, Inc. provided Suzie with physical therapy on a water treadmill when we found out she had a slipped knee. We rescued her from a shelter that euthanizes for space when her pet parent was diag-nosed with Alzheimer's.

Barney is so happy at home he has not stopped wagging his tail even when resting in his comfortable foam bed! Check out everyone’s smile, even Barney’s. His pet parents have been heartbroken ever since their 11 year old Beagle became sick and died. They went to an ER vet hospital when he got sick. Pet Mom volunteers at an animal shelter near their home helping with laundry and dishes. Barney’s pet parents are such wonderful animal lovers.

A pet can be a child’s best friend in ways you might

not expect! Research shows that pets can benefit a

child’s physical and emotional well-being.

Tank enjoys

spending

time with

the kids!

Tank is cozy and warm

under the blankets

with his best buddy!

Kiwi has a new name, Piper. He will be enjoying many happy times with his new family and the chil-

dren will benefit from having him in their family. He will help build their confidence, and help them

develop empathy and responsibility.

Piper has a huge smile

for his new family.

Piper can’t

wait to get

outside and

play ball

with the

kids!

Lennox was in a shelter that has to

euthanize for space. At the request of

a Lab rescue group, Animal Sanctuary

Society, Inc. was able to rescue him

and find him a good home where he

will be going on many outings with

his new family. Even on a boat!

In Loving Memory

You left paw

prints on my

heart and I

am changed

forever!

No longer by

my side but

always in my

heart!

Beauty was adopted by a family with children who wanted him and his

brother to be called Beauty and the Beast. Unfortunately the family had

to give up the cats when Dad was deployed to Japan. They didn't want

the cats they loved so much to have to be quarantined for 6 months so

they gave them up for adoption. Beauty was adopted by another family

with young children and Beast, whose new name is Beasley, was left be-

hind. Beasley was adopted by an Animal Sanctuary Society Inc. volun-

teer along with his friends Oreo and Stach. Again due to family difficul-

ties, Beauty was given up for adoption. The same volunteer who adopt-

ed his brother decided to adopt Beauty also. Beauty was a gentle soul

who was very affectionate. Despite problems with bladder stones and

cancer, he never complained. He passed peacefully in our volunteer’s

arms while being stroked and spoken to at the animal hospital.

Include your pet in your disaster preparations

Prepare for disasters by microchipping your pet and creating an emergency sup-

ply kit with food, water, medications, a carrier and leashes. Include a photo of

your pet, its medical records, and your and your vet’s contact information. If dis-

aster strikes, bring your pet inside and keep it in a secure location. If you need to

evacuate, take your pet with you.

Beauty

Sadie

Dear Friends at the Animal Sanctuary, It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you that we

lost our dear Sadie to cancer yesterday. It had come

on so quickly, that we didn't have time to wrap our

heads around it. That being said, she did not suffer.

She passed in the midst of loving family who will

forever be grateful for the little dog who came into

our live. Sadie was a most special dog. We never

needed to get a fence for our yard as she would just

hang out there with us. She was so smart, loyal, and

obedient even without trying! She would follow me

around the yard like my little shadow and “help”

me with the gardening. Everyone, everyone loved

Sadie! She would welcome everyone with a smile

and wagging tail and would never jump on anyone.

She was our perfect dog, and we miss her so much

it hurts. Thank you for bringing this sweet girl to

us. I can only pray that we were good enough for

her.

Many of the rabbits purchased as Easter pets will never live to see their first birthday. Some will die from neglect, while others will be abandoned in local parks or left at animal shelters. Unless parents are willing to take full responsibility for the possible 10-year lifespan of a live rabbit, they should buy their chil-dren chocolate rabbits instead.

Most children want a companion they can hold, carry and cuddle, but rabbits are fragile, ground-loving creatures who break easily when dropped. Additionally, rabbits are easily frightened by loud noises. It is unreasonable to expect a small child to make a 10-year commitment to taking care of a rabbit. All too often, the child loses interest, and the rab-bit ends up neglected or abandoned.

Mickey and Vinnie know

that April means it’s

wondering what’s with

all the snow!

Summertime is Beach Time

If you bring your beloved dog to the beach

remember to dip their paws in warm wa-

ter to get the sand off and then wipe their

paws dry. Sand can be very irritating to

their paws. Make sure your pet doesn’t

drink ocean water. It can be deadly!

Chloe looks like a

model. Check out her

beauty harness.

Chloe’s owner sent us an email to let us know how much she

loves Chloe! She says Chloe is amazing and goofy and my best

friend.

Chloe loves her little brother but he doesn’t feel the same!

However, they do get along just fine! She is friendly towards

every human and animal!

Thanks again for everything ! We are soooo happy together!

Playful Chloe!

WE HELPED BUDDY AND OTHERS IN NEED, BECAUSE OF YOUR SUPPORT.!

WE LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR CARING and DONATIONS, MAKING YOU AN

IMPORTANT PART IN THEIR RESCUE!

BUDDY BEFORE:

This is poor Buddy when he was surrendered to a shelter that

has to kill because of lack of space. Looking at his sad eyes, we

can tell he felt rejected, unloved, and so defeated in this world.

We did not turn our eyes away from his picture, but said we

would rescue him no matter what!

This is Buddy after the care he received from Animal

Sanctuary Society, Inc. with his Beautiful coat and Smile.

He is with one of our dedicated volunteers, Pam!

Buddy’s sensitive loving adopter knew he was the one

for her before meeting him from just seeing his picture!

He has a nice extended family too. Now he will get all

the love and care he deserves!

LOSS OF EYE WHEN KITTEN, NOW NEEDS A HOME AS AN ADULT!

We rescued White Shine (the name we gave him), ten years ago as a kit-

ten. We had to have his eye removed due to a severe eye infection. He

was adopted, and ten years later we got a call from the adopter that she

could no longer keep him. Teddy (his name now) is a gentle soul and

loves to just lay in your lap to be cuddled and pet (typical Maine coon

personality). He looks like a large Maine coon mix with long flowing

hair. PLEASE CONTACT US TO ADOPT HIM!

[email protected] or call 856-642-0004.
