“This app is just for me one of the best representations of how mobile tech can evoke positive feelings and drive away the negative. When I feel down, I just shake and remember why the show must go on... Umm Faatihah (5 star review)

Hi, my name is Glen. Let me introduce you to HappiJar. It is a mobile app in which you save your inspiring and happiest moments away for rainy days when you need them the most. HappiJar will replace the ‘family photo album’, surpass Instagram as one of the most popular apps to store special moments on, and become the Timehop of all our happiest moments…

“I suffer with post natal depression and someone in my support group recommended this app. It's great. When it seems like there is nothing to be happy about I shake it and am reminded that there is. Love it. Thankyou!! Have recommended it to everyone else in my group. Thankyou!!” - Mrs Heath (5 star review)

What problems are we solving?• Loneliness and unhappiness lead to acute stress and

insomnia. Which then leads to more unhappiness. It’s a vicious circle and a modern day killer. It can remove 10 years from our life expectancies.

• 20% of all Americans report extreme stress. Major depression will be the world’s second most debilitating disorder by 2020. Costing the US economy $300 billion in lost productivity.

• Our social network feeds are crammed with bravado and ‘throw-away’ moments. All we get back in return are temporary social highs.

• We currently have NO easy to access a personal ‘oasis of happiness’ that we can turn to in moments of real emotional crisis or need.

Why we ALL need a HappiJar.• Giving to others helps us to feel amazing. Paying

compliments, receiving /showing gratitude to others and feeling loved has always been one of our most basic of all human needs.

• HappiJar will combine together our positive and happy content from all our social and mobile feeds. Then with one simple shake of the app, it will bring them back to life in our hands.

• Helps us to feel more connected with the people who matter in our lives.

• It’s easy to build the habit of gratitude using our tactile app user interface along with gamification.

How big is the market? Our mother/daughter target audience revealed themselves to us after we launched our beta app into the App Store in March 2014.

• 5 million potential users world wide – Females aged 13 to 17 yrs. [55% American, 25% UK, 20% rest of world]

• 27 million potential users world wide – Females aged 35 to 55 yrs. [65% American, 20% UK, 15% rest of world]

All smart phone owners [Apple, Windows, Android][Facebook] Interests include: Fitness & Wellbeing, Gratitude, Happiness, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Positive Psychology, Digital Photography.

Monetisation Strategy. We plan to use 3 ways to monetise HappiJar. plus a possible acquisition exit strategy in 3-5 years time:

1. In-app purchases and subscription model [PRO and Lite versions]. Short term.

2. Affiliate marketing and sponsorship of daily inspirational messages [Pearls of Wisdom]. Medium term.

3. Personalised printed products and greetings cards to gift to one another [Photo books, thank you cards, advent calendar, yearly calendar]. This is our primary target revenue and worth over $1.5 billion annually.

4. Potential to be acquired by one of the following companies: American Greetings, Hallmark , Photobox, WHSmiths, Vista Print or Zazzle amongst others.

Our Advantages.1. We have UK registered trade marks for ‘happijar’ and

‘happibuttons’. 2. We own www.happijar.com, www.happibuttons.com, & @HappiJar

[Twitter]3. Our app has been extensively alpha and beta tested by our growing

community of happijar’ers who continue to help us. 48% of our daily activity comes from females aged 13-17 years old.

4. HappiJar has partnered on a joint marketing campaign with Frame Again, a mobile optimised photo frame start-up in London. We have also 2 more joint campaigns planned with Jelly Belly UK and the youth charity vInspired for 2015.

5. Our team have many years of experience in digital marketing, branding, mobile app design and app development. Our UX/UI designer was part of a Techstars team in 2014. One of our business advisors is Iain Martin, the MD of Moonpig.

Competition & why we’re awesome!HappiJar falls into several app categories but it’s main competition comes from Instagram, Pinterest and Timehop. The following reasons are why we are different and very very cool:

1. Unique and instantly recognisable design around posting sewing buttons into a glass jar. This concept is contagious.

2. Easy random access to only the moments which have special meaning, along with a journal entry to provide context.

3. Not only will HappiJar aggregate content from a wealth of social feeds [like Timehop does], but it has a simple way to create moments from inside the app itself.

4. We have identified a few ways to monetise this app, but in truth there are many ways to experiment with revenue strategies right from the very start.

Shouting about HappiJar.1. Twitter marketing – we use our Twitter account to speak

direct with our community and raise awareness of any new competitions or promotions.

2. Blogs and Celebrity endorsements – this is an essential part of our strategy. We have seen a huge spike in downloads and activity from only 3rd generation Facebook page referral. A good portion of our attention will be spent building relationships with bloggers and celebrities.

3. App Store optimisation. Currently 80% of all our downloads originate from app store discovery. Thus we intend to seek expert advice to help boost our rankings in the worlds app stores. Especially in the US where the market is ripe for expansion.

4. Future marketing channels include YouTube, TV and Radio advertisements.

Money.• So far HappiJar has been bootstrapped from the Founders

personal savings, and friends and family to the total of £14,000.• We are raising £135,000 for 20% of HappiJar [pre money valuation

of £580,000] to seed the development of a major multiplatform app update. Using this we will scale our community AND launch our first highly personalised printed products [advent calendars, yearly calendars and count down calendars].

• HappiJar will generate revenue by month 6. True profitability will not be achieved until Oct 2016. Then healthy profits of £243,658 at March 2017 and £2,477,931 by March 2018 will be posted.

• Our prediction is that by March 2017 HappiJar will be valued at £1.2 million, and £12.3 million by March 2018. That amounts to a 20x return on investment in 3 years.

34,000 moments of happiness have been shared, 3,600 app store downloads, 350 monthly active users and 2600 happijar registrations in total.

Thank you."Our mission at HappiJar is to explore ever more creative ways to inspire ourselves, our friends and our family to collect and share happiness in our everyday lives. To put it simply, HappiJar will strengthen the bonds we already have and help us to appreciate the little things in life…a lot more.“
