OIB Head of Compliance recognized foroutstanding achievements at ACAMS annual

conference

The Association of

Certified Anti-MoneyLaundering Specialists(ACAMS) presented HanyAbou-El-Fotouh withachievement award at its5th annual conference inLas Vegas.

Each year, the advisory board reviews all applications for award nominations and selects amember that has contributed the most to the anti-money laundering (AML) field. Abou-El-Fotouhwas recognized for his outstanding performance in this field and for the extra steps he has takento safeguard his organization from money laundering. He has won this award for two consecutiveyears.

Abou-El-Fotouh, Assistant General Manager and Head of Compliance of Oman InternationalBank (OIB), was awarded the Community Impact Award for outstanding contributions withinthe AML community. He has been actively promoting the culture and knowledge of anti-moneylaundering and combating terrorism financing in the Middle East and is founder and moderatorof the Middle East Compliance Officers Forum (MECOF) with +400 members. The Forum aims

to be a communication channel connecting compliance professionals in the region. He is alsofounder and moderator of the 'Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Compliance ServicesGroup,' which is responsible for posting commercial and business advertisements in relation tocompliance and AML services including jobs, software, conferences, training, events andconsulting. Abou-El-Fotouh is also a regular speaker at regional conferencesACAMS has more than 4,300 members in over 100 countries and has certified more than 2,000professionals already recognized as the highest standard for the professional in the money-laundering prevention field.
