    Being a four year sandwich course, this degree includes a placement year to commence in my third year. Prior to this,

    leisure marketing has equipped me with skills that will aid me in the working environment through topics such as:marketing communications; financial reporting and consumer experience and behaviour. Within year one and year two ofmy degree I have had to deliver presentations to lecturers, company managers and fellow peers, indicating myexceptional communication skills. An example of this is a Dragons Den style presentation created forPelhams ParkLeisure Centre. Based upon our creative execution we were able to generate a new product complete with profitprospects and our break-even schedule.

    Throughout my educational experiences, I have become literate in Microsoft Office as evident from my A* GCSEcoursework grade. I have an understanding of Microsoft Excel as a module entitled Financial Appraisal has required theuse of spread sheets to enter and analyse numerical data. The use of Microsoft Excel in terms of numerical data requiresa high attention to detail as all numbers need to be correct in order to have accurate results.

    Group work is an essential element of my degree, however at times I have been pro-active and researched during my

    free time to help encourage progression- as seen from my second year event for leisure innovation. I was responsible forevent design and public relations and created social media accounts to communicate information with our desired targetmarket as well as formulating a set of aims and objectives for our event to comply with.

I also displayed myhigh attention to detail by ensuring the shop floor was tidy, whilst being attentive to customer needs. I would be told of oursales targets for the day and would strive to push sales through various techniques.

    Leo Leisure Bingo, Isle of Wight - Team AssistantJuly 2011-January 2012I was required to be observant and attentive to every customer and their needs. I learnt valuable customer service skillssuch as being confident to talk with a customer as an individual, making them feel comfortable and aware that they are avaluable asset to the company. I worked with in many areas of the company such as book sales, working in the bar-replenishing stock and serving drinks and working on the floor, checking bingo claims. A frequent area in which I workedwas at reception, where I would both answer and transfer calls to the right department as well as signing up newmembers. My trustworthiness was displayed through the handling and counting of large sums of money after a night ofbingo had concluded.

    Winchester House, Isle of Wight - VolunteeringJuly 2009 - August 2010In July 2009, I completed a sponsored laser marathon, in aid of Help2grieve; an Isle of Wight based charity. This involvedapproaching many people to receive sponsorship and showed my commitment to the event. I personally raised 150 andfelt ecstatic as I knew the contribution would have aided children who have lost those closest to them. In addition, I alsoran a drama workshop with fellow volunteers which was a rewarding experience as the children were engaged and willingto participate. This developed my skills within working as a team and leadership which are qualities in which I want tokeep pursuing and developing, offering them in my career.

    Rapanui - Bembridge, Isle of Wight - Research and PRAugust 2010Rapanui is an organic clothing company situated on the Isle of Wight and have won numerous awards for theirachievements. My role was public relations and marketing intern for one week and had chosen this as both subjects aremy passion and are my ambitions for the basis of my career. I was responsible for the communication between Rapanuiand their potential contacts, entering information gathered into a database. I also contributed by giving my opinions on thevisual appeal of their clothing and costs to purchase, relating it to their target audience.

    I have helped co-ordinate a campaign against raising student travelling fares on the Isle of Wight which was

    discussed in a local council meeting.

    I was a member of the Vinspired Regional Panel in 2009 and was required to read volunteer profiles to ensurethey were nominated for the correct category. This displays my ability to associate information with criteria andobjectives.

    I undertook training for two schemes within my high school; the buddying scheme and Apause scheme. Bothindicate my confidence to communicate with groups of people on sensitive issues, such as sexual health and anyissues affecting their experience within school.

    I was involved with Global Rock, an organisation promoting an anti-drug and alcohol policy, through the use of an8 minute dance performance at Portsmouth Guildhall. All schools within the South Coast would compete for thetop 3 positions.

    My passion for photography was transferred into my photography A-level whereby I learnt new skills within AdobePhotoshop. I have both a DSLR and SLR camera and frequently go on walks to photograph landscapes and nature.Additionally, I have led some portrait photo-shoots.

    In my spare time I enjoy going for a run, it allows me to relax and assess situations effectively.
