Sangha Shantivanam Sangha Shantivanam is a Christian community which aims to promote the Universal Call to Contemplation through shared prayer and spiritual practice, and to be a sign of unity and an instrument of peace by seeking to understand the experience of Ultimate Reality as found in all the world’s spiritual traditions. The monastic ideal is the contemplative life lived in community, and a communal life that leads to contemplation. Toward that end we encourage each other to commit to regular attendance at Sangha meetings, study of the texts we are reading together, daily practice, and spiritual and Ainancial support of the Sangha. Mission Statement I suddenly saw that all the time it was not I who had been seeking God, but God who had been seeking me. I had made myself the centre of my own existence and had my back turned to God. Bede Grif)iths obhūr bhuvasuvatatsaviturvareyabhargo devasyadhīmahi dhiyo yo naprachodayāt Let us meditate on the glorious splendor Of the Divine Light And may that Light enlighten our Meditation The Gayatri Mantra from the Rig Veda
