The Handbook of Endourology has 1500 pages and it is structured into five books, including 61

chapters and is entirely based on personal or coworkers’ imagery (patients who were admitted and

underwent surgery during the past 30 years in our center).

The more than 4000 images of “full color” endoscopic surgery recorded the most significant

moments of endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of the entire urological pathology.

Handbook of Endourology appearance in over 100 countries, is certainly one of the greatest medical

achievements of postwar Romanian publicist.

1stbook in the series Book 1 analyzes the urethral diagnosis and modern treatment elements.

We described the endoscopic aspects of diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment of the urethral pathology: optical urethrotomy in men, ureteric stents, urethral strictures in women, lithiasis, and intraurethral foreign bodies, urethral tumors, urethral traumas, endoscopic treatment of urinary incontinence, endoscopic management of the urethral malformations

With an experience of over 500 endoscopic prostatic procedures per year (approximately 10,000 cases operated in this clinic in the last 20 years being assessed), this textbook analyzes almost exclusively our own experience in a high-performance clinic, unanimously recognized both in Romania and abroad.

The modern urologist will be encouraged to read about an experience that in the end also analyzes a minimally invasive treatment algorithm for prostate adenoma, the place of endoscopy in the modern treatment of prostate cancer, transurethral resection for unblocking, and the current value of minimally invasive ablative techniques.

This volume is a quintessence of a vast experience, sometimes of pioneering value, combining classic and modern approaches, comparing results, and orienting the modern urologist toward a more correct and complete modality of endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of noninvasive bladder tumors.

The reader will find over 700 full color images that are intended to materialize a relevant collection of images, our exceptional casuistic, and real-life experiences from a center of excellence in this field.

4th book in the series

This 4th book in the series continues with the procedures designed for ureteral approach, being the first of the two volumes dedicated to the upper urinary tract.

Within its pages, the technological progress of the last decades becomes maybe even more evident. Miniaturization, development of lasers, special materials for flexible scopes, image chips etc. have allowed the continuous reshaping of this field.

This volume is based on a broad experience of more than 11,500 rigid and semirigid ureteroscopies and more than 2,500 flexible ones performed in the last 25 years.

The actual book, Percutaneous Surgery of the Upper Urinary Tract, is dedicated to the percutaneous procedures for the management of the renal pathology.

The aim was to produce a stimulating and up-to-date handbook that will captivate the reader with a mainly pictorial interpretation of technical advancements and innovations, with a number of interesting improvements, based on a vast experience (more than 6.000 percutaneous approaches from our experience).

The content of this book, is meant to bring the reader up to date with technological advances, the authors having attempting to complete the clinical experience with basic science, translational research, and clinical outcomes concerning renal pathology.

“The Handbook of Endourology represents a remarkably rare editorial event for the international urology related literature.

Completing such a scientific material has turned out to be quite difficult, especially under the circumstances of an unprecedented and continuous development in endourology.

The Handbook of Endourology is aimed especially at urologists, but it can be of interest to specialists in all domains as it assesses the exceptional evolution of medical facilities, new digital technologies, new lasers, high definition systems (video HD and recording), etc., applied in the worldwide recognized urological centers.”

“The Handbook of Endourology represents the first Textbook in the Romanian Urology to be published in such a prestigious publisher.

Extraordinary cooperation and support from the Elsevier publisher ensured high quality of the published material.

The Handbook of Endourology has an extraordinary scale in research in the field of endourology with the possibility of becoming a useful basis for any urologist work.”
