HP 2910 AL 24G Core Switch: ( Main switch for the entire school ) for $1799.99

• Four 10.0Gb fiber ports and 24 1.0 Gb copper (Cat 6 ) Ethernet ports for core network

• Layer 2 switching means VLANs sense what is plugged into each port.

• Core Switch ( Center of Network ) with traffic prioritization. This allows us to give certain networks ( Admin / ITV ) priority over others (Labs ) as far as speed goes.

HP 2510 48G Port Switch: ( 5 of these connected to the Core Switch)$1,150.00 each for a total of $5,750.00

• 48 ports of 1.0 Gb Ethernet• Auto-sensing on each port • we can plug in a computer, ITV, ip phone , wireless access

point or even the security cams into a single port and still maintain separate networks on a single port.

Why These Switches Were Needed

• Increased number of students• Increased number of computers and wireless devices in the

district-iPods, iPads and Kindle Fire’s• Interactive white boards in every room• Increased security on the network

• Without this grant, Hancock may not have been able to take the steps necessary in updating the infrastructure at Hancock School. This new technology will take us into a remodeled or a new building in the future.

ON BEHALF OF THE HANCOCK SCHOOL DISTRICT, WE THANK YOU FOR THIS
