Executive Summary

Pubali Bank Limited is the largest Commercial Bank in Private Sector in Bangladesh. It

provides mass banking services to the customers through its branch network all over the

country. This Bank has been playing a vital role in socio-economic, industrial and

agricultural development as well as in the overall economic development of the country since

its inception through savings mobilization and investment of funds. During the last 5 years

the growth rate of bank's earnings is more than 25% on average.

This Bank has emerged with deep affinity with the people of the country and growing rapidly

in terms of deposit mobilization, investment activities, and foreign trade operation and in

handling foreign remittance with increasing interest and support of the people who are

making it business volume double in every year. The main objective of this report is to focus

on General Banking System of Pubali Bank Limited. During Internship Period, I was

assigned responsibility in the various departments of PBL and finally involved in general

banking department and observed the functions of general banking department of Pubali

Bank Limited. My internship report encompasses on eight chapters. Chapter One

Introduction covers the introductory part of the report. In this part I basically tried to explain background, significance, objective, scope, limitation of the study. Chapter Two Overview

of PBL covers the profile of the company. In this part I tried to discuss the overall

information of Pubali Bank Limited with Mirpur Branch where I was worked for three

months. Chapter Three covers necessary Theory. Chapter Four PBL General Banking

covers the Report Part. Here I analyze the General Banking activity of Pubali Bank Limited. I

discuss the whole General Banking section including the subsection of Mirpur Branch. At last

the other chapters covers Findings, Analysis, Recommendation and Conclusion. I tried to

provide some suggestion to the Bank. These suggestions are the outcomes of this report.

These suggestions made on the basis of my observation. I think it will help the managing

committee of PBL to run the organization more effectively.
