~Grade 6 Environmental Trip~ Hamburg 6th graders were ready for their
environmental trip. On Thursday, September 29th, they came to school with sleeping bags and camping
gear in tow. The students accompanied by Mrs. Smalley and Mr. Blochinger spent two days and one
night at the Pocono Environmental Education in Dingmans Ferry, PA.

Hamburg School will host a coffee-chat at 7 p.m. on October 20th to discuss on-going initiatives at the school. The October 20th coffee-chat is intended to be one of four meetings held in the 2016-2017 school year where the BOE and Administration invites the greater public to discuss ways to s t rengthen school communicat ions between the school, teachers, parents, students, and the community. This meeting follows the inaugural coffee-chat held late in the 2015-2016 school year where parents, administrators, members of the Board of Education and teachers discussed results from a recent Hamburg School communications survey and ways to facilitate more open communications in Hamburg School.For further information, please contact H a m b u r g S c h o o l ’ s C h i e f S c h o o l Administrator, Roger Jinks at 973-827-7570 or [email protected].

WEEK OF RESPECT
The week of October 3-7 Hamburg School will celebrate a Week of Respect. Students are encouraged to participate each day in the following way:
Monday: Blue Shirt Day…wear Blue Tuesday: Respect for Others…wear Yellow Wednesday: Own Our Zone Day - wear school colors to show Hamburg Pride Thursday: Go Green Day - wear green to show respect for our environment Friday: Respect for Community - bring canned or prepackaged food to donate to local families in need

gymnasium will not be available for our first Pride Assembly.

The Hamburg Board of Education would like to recognize students each month who have been nominated by their teachers for exemplary performance in one or more of the following areas:

One student will be selected in each of the following grade levels, PreK-2, 3-5 and 6-8. Students and their parents will be invited to attend that month’s Board meeting at which time a short description of the child’s accomplishment(s) will be shared and the students will be presented with certificates.
