HISTORY OF HALLOWEENOurs ancerstors celebrated new years on November 1st .They celebrated New years eve on October 31th.

THE FASTSTHE FASTSNeigther the word Halloween or the date 31 October are mentioned in any Anglo-Saxon text indicating that it was just an ordinary day a throusand years ago.In the medieval period (1066-1485)through to the 19th century , there isno evidence that 31 October of All Saints Day.From the 19 th century to the present day,31 October has increasingly acquery a reputacion as a night which ghost , witches , and fairies, are especially active.

ALL SAINTS DAY-1 NOVEMBERALL SAINTS DAY-1 NOVEMBERIn the years 835 A.D.the Roman Catholic Church made 1st November a church holiday to honour all the Saints .Although was a joyous holiday too sad holiday because is the All Souls Day.Another name for All Saints Day was All Hallows (Hallow is an archaic English work of Saints) Halloween comes from All Hallow Even, the eve (night before) All Hallows day. Therefore, Halloween is the eve of All Saints Day.

EVIL SPIRITSEVIL SPIRITSThey believed that evel spirit came with the long hours and winter darkness too believed that the there was a barriers between our worl and his wordand this nigth the evel spirit came to earth.

BONFIRESBONFIRES

They built bonfire for frighten to the spitit , they celebrated with feasted and danced around the fires.

HALLOWEEN CUNSTOMHALLOWEEN CUNSTOMThe custim was very important , there were a lot:

They taked candles at eleven o´clock,they telled that the witches off the candles,and there was bad luck.

Halloween was also sometimes called Snap Apple Night, in England. A game called snap apple was played where apples were suspended on a long piece of string. Contestants had to try an bite the apple without using their hands. A variation of the game was to fix an apple and a lighted candle at opposite ends of a stick suspended horizontally and to swing the stick round. The

object was to catch the apple between the teeth whilst avoiding the candle.

In England conbined Halloween with Mischief Night .the boys played to kings of practical jocket on their neighbours.
