A project led by Nathalie Ouattara, with the Fair Trade company founded be her in Burkina Faso Shuka offers an ethnic look with generous streaks; Olapa, the most tremendous creativity in folded hair; Sumi, with a highly structured, asymmetric graphic cut and fringe graduated at the sides; and lastly Yutsuko , in a destructured version.

ADDIO A VIDAL SASSOONUn grande amico della professione, grande tra i grandi, ci ha lasciato. I primi giorni di mag-gio, nel suo appartamento di Beverly Hills a Los Angeles, in modo naturale, circondato dai suoi familiari. morto a 84 anni.

Nel 2009 gli era stata diagnosticata la leucemia, una malattia che ha finito per consumarlo malgrado la sua voglia di vivere, la sua vita vegetariana, lesercizio fisico quotidiano e lo zen.

Quanti di noi hanno seguito la storia della nostra professione non hanno potuto non ammi-rarlo. Non solo come persona corretta ed educata, ma soprattutto per il suo apporto nelle tecniche di taglio semplici, architettoniche e facili, tra le quali spicca il BOB, che ancora oggi sopravvive insieme alle ispirazioni strutturali di asimmetria e geometria.

Stili che hanno fatto la storia e che ancora oggi sono apprezzati ogni qual volta vengono realizzati dal suo team o nella sua famosa scuola di Londra.

Vidal Sassoon non ha mai preteso di essere un divo. Sebbene lo fosse. Accettava la fama con naturalezza e sapeva essere amico dei suoi amici.

I miei ricordi, a partire dalla prima intervista nel famoso negozio di Bond Street negli anni 60, sono estesi e permanenti; molto positivi per questo suo atteggiamento da gentleman inglese. E non si sono mai cancellati n si cancelleranno mai, come lammirazione che nutro per lui.

Amici, ci ha lasciato una delle ultime e pi importanti icone dellacconciatura. Riposa in pace, Vidal!

Non ti dimenticheremo mai,

FAREWELL TO VIDAL SASSOONOne of my best friends in the profession, a man who was a true great amongst the greats, has left us. At the beginning of May, at home in his Beverly Hills apartment in Los Angeles, he slipped away, in the most natural way, surrounded by his family. He passed away at the age of 84.

Back in 2009 he was diagnosed with leukaemia and, despite his great lust for life, his ve-getarian diet, his daily exercise and Zen, little by little he was undermined by the disease.

Any hairstylist just the slightest bit familiar with the history of our profession will hold him in the very greatest esteem; for he was the most polite and proper of men, one who above all made the most outstanding contribution to the profession with his criteria of simple, easy, architectural haircuts the most remarkable of which was his bob cut, still current today. As indeed are the structural touches of asymmetry and geometry he brought to his cuts.

Styles that made history and which are still held in the greatest esteem when recreated by his Teams or the teachers of his world-famous London hairdressing school.

Vidal Sassoon never aspired to be a diva. Albeit that he truly stood head and shoulders above the rest. He took to fame with ease and always remained the greatest of friends to his friends.

The wonderful and multiple memories I have of him stretch right back to our first meeting in his famous Bond Street Salon back in the 60s and will always remain with me; I shall always remember him as a true English gentleman. And never will the admiration I hold for him fade.

My friends, one of the last and most outstanding icons of the world of hairdressing has left us. Rest in peace Vidal!

Noi non lo faremo.- Saremo trasparenti perch vogliamo che siate voi professionisti a suggerirci gli argomenti di cui parlare attraverso gli indirizzi e-mail che troverete in calce alle principali rubriche.

Vorremmo anche essere etici. Ma questa unaltra storia, che di noi potrete raccontare solo voi.

Magia multiplaIn questa magica immagine multipla, Ezel di Woodley & Bunny ci presenta un raccolto tirato in maniera molto sexy su un lato e realizzato con laiuto di bigodini caldi, phon e forcine. Il fotografo, Harry Fellows, ottiene leffetto di immagine multipla rompendo uno specchio e fotografandolo direttamente. Brillante! Quando ho visto limmagine multipla nella mia macchina fotografica, mi sono reso conto che, se avessero avuto tanto volume, i capelli avrebbero ottenuto un impatto maggiore, spiega Ezel.

For this magical multiple image, the updo with hair swept sexily to one side is by Ezel of Woodley & Bunny, who prepped it using hot rollers, a blow dryer, criss-crossed bobby pins. The photographer, Harry Fellows, shattered glass and actually shot into the glass. Brilliant. When I saw the multiple image in the camera, I realized making the hair really big would have most impact, said Ezel.

Danielle is wearing a black bob wig over long blonde hair with black extensions here and there. It looked silly at first, said the one and only Ezel of Woodley & Bunny, but as we started to work on it, with a blow dryer and straightening iron, then moved it around, it looked absolutely amazing. Quite honestly I think it was the best thing I did all year, he added. We love it too.

Ispirati ai felini selvaggi del film del 1982 Il bacio della pantera, questi stili brillanti di Antonio Corral Calero, direttore artistico di Moroccanoil (che ha lavorato per Llongueras per 10 anni) sono stati portati sulla passerella dellaudace Catherine Malandrino per la presentazione della sua collezione sexy autunno 2012. Inspired by the fierce felines of the 1982 movie Cat People these glimmering shiny styles by Antonio Corral Calero, Moroccanoils Artistic Director (who worked for Llongueras 10 years) were shown at Catherine Malandrinos strong, sexy Fall 2012 cats meow of a Presentation. The cool cats had glossy, voluminized curved wave patterns on top, hair flowing straight and sleek at the back. For the cats eyes, Sephoras Gilbert Soliz worked with Make Up For Ever Black Kohl Liner with blue, turquoise and fuchsia creams.

Tre acconciatori hanno lavorato insieme i capelli di queste modelle utilizzando extension per creare forme con differenti texture. Lo stile da Matrigna cattiva stato realizzato da Jessica Tiddes e si ispira alle acconciature alte ed elaborate di Maria Antonietta nel secolo XVIII. Il tipo Capuccetto rosso di Ariel Griglin ci ricorda i dipinti di Botticelli nel primo Rinascimento. E la Rapunzel realizzata da MeeMee Jarret pura fantasia.
