Started in the 1950s by qualified hairdresser and beautician Arturo Taverna with a salon in the city of Adelaide - developing into a group of 30 salons throughout South Australia - Artav Australia is now firmly established as a respected manufacturer and supplier of professional hair care and beauty products developed to a consistently high standard, following a natural approach and a strong sustainability commitment.

From its inception as market-leading salons in the city of Adelaide to the successful business it is today, Artav Australia has continued to remain a proudly Australian, family owned and run company, continuing to expand its Adelaide-based business with an emphasis on protecting the environment.

HYDROLYSED WHEAT PROTEIN

Hydrolysed Wheat Protein has been found to have many benefits to hair. Hydrolysis is the process of breaking down the Wheat Protein into smaller chains of Amino Acids in order for the protein to be able to be absorbed into the hair.

Hydrolysed Wheat Protein is easily absorbed into the hair shaft to then improve the elasticity of hair by decreasing moisture loss preventing breakage. This also promotes moisture to the hair leaving your hair feeling silky and smooth.

HAIR EXTENSIONS PERSONAL CARE REGIME

Your new hair extensions should be kept conditioned and tangle free at all times, as you would your own hair, to maintain a healthy natural look. You can style your hair with or without the use of a blow-drier, straightening irons or heated rollers and human hair extensions and your natural hair can be coloured at any time.

A return visit to your extension technician in 3 weeks is advisable for a maintenance check up. To maintain a long-term full head appearance, 1 – 2 rows will need to be renewed in approximately 6 – 8 weeks.

Cleansing, conditioning & maintenance

Natural Look X-Ten product range is SLS, Mineral Oil and Paraben Free, making it especially suited for hair extensions and their bonds. Natural Look X-Ten Hair Extensions Care products are designed to help prolong the life and colour of extensions without weight or build up. It is recommended to use the Natural Look Tangle Free Hair Extensions Brush developed especially for smooth brushing, to minimise unnecessary tension on the extensions or the bonds. Normal brushes can cause pulling on the extensions resulting in discomfort and possible weakening of the bonds.

Precautions

Products with high levels of Silicon or Alcohol are best avoided as they will break down the joining bond prematurely. When using heat (e.g. straightening irons), always keep away from joins. When swimming it is highly recommended a swimming cap be worn to avoid bond breakage and decreased longevity of extensions caused by sea water and swimming pool chemicals such as chlorine. The above precautions are only applicable at or near the joins; mid-length & ends can be treated as normal. Your new hair will help your own hair grow healthy and long, whilst they are applied, just by following these simple instructions. For further information contact your hair technician at any time.

Apply X-Ten Silky-Lite Shampoo to wet hair. Gently massage into hair, taking care at the area of the hair extension bonds, then rinse thoroughly. Repeat if desired. Follow with X-Ten Silky-Lite Conditioner and X-Ten Silky-Lite Reconstructor for on-going styling support and protection.

After cleansing the hair with X-Ten Silky-Lite Shampoo, apply Silky-Lite Conditioner throughout the hair and distribute evenly with a wide tooth comb, taking care at the area of the bonds. Leave in for 2-3 minutes, gently massage through the roots and joins of the extensions. Follow with X-Ten Silky-Lite Reconstructor and Silky-Lite Polishing Milk for ongoing protection.

Enriched with Panthenol, Vitamin E and Chamomile, this conditioning formula adds weightless moisture to the hair, smoothing the surface while eliminating frizz and fly-away. A vitamin-rich conditioner designed to reverse daily stress on hair extensions and increase moisture retention without weight or build-up. SLS free.

X-Ten Silky-Lite Shampoo is oil free and SLS free, which helps extend the life of Remy hair and all other extensions without weight or build-up. This gentle cleanser and anti-pollutant is enriched with Birch Extract, Australian Aloe Vera and Hydrolysed Wheat Protein, strengthens and protects the hair extensions while maintaining the hair and scalp’s optimum pH level.

A lightweight, leave-in thermal protector designed to help extend the life of Remy hair and instantly detangle to remove knots. Enriched with Australian Aloe Vera and Panthenol (Vitamin B5) to protect the hair from thermal damage and to enhance the results and definition desired from straightening and curling irons. Reduces colour fade. SLS free.

DISSOLVE LIQUID REMOVER

ASSISTS IN THE REMOVAL OF HAIR EXTENSIONS

Take a small piece of cotton wool and place it behind the extension bond (this will act as a protector for the scalp when dissolve is sprayed onto the bond). Spray liberally onto the extension bond allowing the cotton wool to soak up the product. Wrap the cotton wool around the bond and secure it with a small clip, repeat this procedure on four extensions allowing the product to penetrate. Take your removal pincers and starting with the first extension, remove the cotton wool and gently break down the bond by opening and closing the pincers. The bond will have been softened and once manipulated will crumble into a powder form. Hold the natural hair and gently slide the extension away from the head.
