Your Maths teacher will have set you some work on MyMaths. If you have any outstanding work from previous weeks, make sure that these are complete first. Don’t forget, there’s also the Maths challenges to complete on the Maths section of the website

Access the White Rose daily maths via our website. There are five 40-minute sessions for you to complete: one for each day of the week! You could print off the daily worksheet or alternatively, you could use paper once you have seen the questions. Please note: If you are going to use the worksheets and answers, these will now need to be downloaded from our Maths page on the HPS website as they are not accessible via White Rose’s website.

Logon to TTRS and complete times tables practice. There is another Battle of the Bands in place this week so get TTRS rocking. Also, look for the Guinness World Record challenge on our Maths section of the website.

English We have created an English home learning sequence to help structure the week so that it is more manageable. It also imitates some of our English sequences in school.

Inspire Use the image or example text to inspire your writing. Talk about it with someone at home using these questions. Images: What do you notice? What do you think about? Text: What features can you spot? What do you like about it?

Plan Plan your writing using the prompts given by your teacher

Write Produce your first draft of writing thinking about the prompts

Edit Read your work and edit the spelling and punctuation

Publish Publish your work neatly in your best handwriting or maybe type it up on a computer. We would love to see the final version so upload it onto seesaw for your teachers to see.

Plan Using your research from the previous two weeks and the video link above, write notes on the 5 Ws (Who, what, where, when and why). This is what you will need to include in your lead paragraph. Who? What? Where? When? Why? Write Now you have made your notes it is now time to draft your newspaper headline and lead paragraph. Remember what we learnt about the features of newspaper recounts last term. The lead paragraph should be clear and concise because you would write more details about the 5 Ws in the main body of your newspaper recount.

Publish We would love to see your work when it is published. Remember the layout of writing in a newspaper recount – it is in columns. You could take a photo and share it on seesaw.

Year 6 Leavers’ Book 2020 Reminder The Year 6 staff are beginning to organise putting together a leavers’ book for everybody in Year 6 to have to remember our special time together at Hagley Primary School. However, we have come to the point of needing your help! We would like everybody to have a go at designing the front cover of the book and you will need to include the following text:

2020 The text can be displayed anywhere on the page and could be written in bubble writing. You can draw pictures on the front cover and decorate how you wish. Please do your designs on plain A4 paper. Think carefully about what would look effective and what would photocopy well! Once completed please either:

Update As part of the year book, we would like to include a section about our current situation - being in lockdown. We thought this would be a nice way of sharing and remembering the things that we have enjoyed doing during this time with each other. Please could you send in a picture of you doing something which you have enjoyed during lockdown. This could be you baking, cycling, reading or gardening!
