Downdraft Fume Extractor(Hacker Instruments) · Most histological solventsand reagents produce vapors that are heavierthan air. Standard fume hoods disperse thesepotentially harmful vapors past the user. Thisuniquely designed fume extractor draws fumesdown into the unit and exhausts pure, breathableair through an activated charcoal filter. It is com-pletely ductless and does not require any specialinstallation. No enveloping hood or draft makes itmore comfortable than standard hoods. An easy-to-operate dial controls the speed of the centrifu-gal fan. An activated carbon filter is enclosed in aseparate drawer for quick replacement. Anelapsed time digital timer shows the number ofhours the filter has been used and a red LED lightnotifies personnel when to install a new filter. Unitis shipped with stainless steel work plate [21 W p111/2" D (53 p 29 cm)], carbon filter cassette, 2 pil-lows of universal activated carbon and operator’sinstruction book.
