Abstract
Every student dream of success and none dream of failure. Being
successful is a dream that every student dream of and goes for. However,
to become successful, various habits are worth embracing and these
include; respect for time, being emotionally and physically healthy,
cultivating a habit of attending classes, focusing on studies and doing
homework in good time. Bad habits makes the student miserable and lead
him/her far from success.
Introduction
Every student dreams of being successful and none dream of
failure. However, it becomes a reality only to a few number of students
while others remain far-fetched. The successful students believe that for
one to be successful, there must be extra and arduous hard work. Albeit,
some believe that successful students are born successful and need not to
work hard. This essay aims at shedding light on three critical habits all
students need to embody in order to make a reality, the dream of
becoming successful.
The Habits
Respect to Treasurable Time
Jeremiah 2
One of the habits of a successful student is having respect to
treasurable time. By becoming time conscious and appreciating the
essence of good time expenditure, a student becomes respective to the
schedules and can therefore not absent himself/herself (Sudhir). Respect
becomes also manifested to teachers and the fellow students. You can
imagine the nuisance caused by a student who is late for a class. The
disturbance and interruptions to the teacher and the classmates makes it
difficult to focus on the core thing in class. These are the characteristics of
students ended towards unsuccessfulness. Contrary to that, successful
students will get to class before the teacher and therefore creates
calmness in class and never become interrupted or interrupt others. Such
kind of students discuss the lesson they covered in the previous lessons
and also share their notes in order to prepare for the next lessons or
course of study. Successful students cultivate a culture of revising their
lessons in time and do their revision on a daily basis hence avoiding stress
and panic when exams are near (Sudhir).
Being Emotionally and Physically Healthy
The other habit is that of being emotionally and physically healthy.
Being healthy is important so as to be able to concentrate in the lesson
hours since being in class listening for one to two hours of lecture is not
an easy task (Study Secrets of Successfull Students). In addition to that, a
whole semester of four months is long, and only the physically and
emotionally strong can survive. For a student to be successful, there is
the need to have good attention and have great energy. This requires

eating healthy foods, doing exercises (such as martial arts), having
enough sleep, and possessing a good character and skills in dealing with
stressful situations. Another important aspect is knowing how to deal with
negative attitudes and emotions.
Attending Classes, Focusing On Studies and Doing Homework in Good
Time
The next habit in the course of this essay is cultivating a habit of
attending classes, focusing on studies and doing homework in good time
(Fred). It is only in the event of an emergency that a successful student
can fail to attend classes which make them very successful. These
students engage their teachers in an active way and consider their
presence in class their priority (Fred). Their study and teacher interaction
does not end at class but continues even after the course.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the successfulness of a student depends on habits.
Embracing habits such as the ones mentioned above open all the doors
and windows towards success. The bad habits will lead to unsatisfactory
results then comes myths and misguided attitudes. For students to be
successful, they need to embrace the good habits.
