is past year has been a transformative time for Central SCHabitat for Humanity. We have emerged from the Great Re-cession with a solid footing and an expanded service modelthat has accelerated our mission to serve more families. In partnership with Bank of America, Wells Fargo andCHASE, we have acquired foreclosed homes in establishedneighborhoods that we are then able to renovate at modestcosts for a partner Habitat family. is new service modelhas been a blessing to Habitat, as our organization, like manynon-profits, has been affected by the Great Recession withdecreasing donations, yet higher demand for our services.ese renovations of foreclosed homes are an opportunityfor us to remain viable by doing more with less. During thefiscal year 2012-13, three of our eight build projects were ren-ovations, and these numbers are on the rise for the currentyear. At the same time, Central SC Habitat for Humanity has beendesignated a Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative (NRI)affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International which meansthat our focus has broadened from not just building houses, but to serving entire neighborhoods. As an NRI affiliate, when we receive a bank foreclosed home, we survey the ex-isting community to identify needs of other homeowners andfind ways in which we can partner to build a thriving neigh-borhood. Exterior repairs, weatherization and yard clean-uphave been some of the ways Habitat is literally changing thelandscape in which we operate.
New builds will continue to be a vital part of our Habitat mis-sion in the coming years, but other cost-effective housing op-tions such as renovations will help us serve more families inRichland and Lexington Counties.

Central SC Habitat is only as strong as its community ofsupporters. You are the reason we are able to continue our
ministry of building homes and hope for families in need. Simply put, without you, our donors, we would not exist. Your gift of money or materials
of any size is critical to our ministry. When it comes to helping our community, picking up a checkbook is just as powerful as picking up a hammer. Pleaseconsider making a tax-deductible, year-end gift to Central SC Habitat for
Humanity. Your gift will impact our community far beyond this giving season.
Please use the enclosed envelope or donate online at www.habitatcsc.org.
Many employers offer matching gifts. Consider talking to your workplace to increase the impact of your donation with a matching gift.
Contact Allison Kirby, Director of Development, at (803) 252-3570 for more information about giving opportunities.
