This course provides students with the opportunity to examine and critically reflect the nature and implications of leadership ethics in health care. Students examine key characteristics of ethical leadership, and the theoretical underpinnings of sound moral decision making and action of health care leaders. Processes for identifying and cultivating health care leaders, cultural competence, continued learning and bioethics in health care are also explored.

Personal Ethics Statement and Support Paper You will demonstrate your ability to apply ethics to your
future career in a healthcare setting by creating a one-page statement of your professional code of ethics. This statement should clearly identify your “ethical bottom line” and be suitable for framing. Your project should be supported by materials from the text, research and personal experience.

The document should be no larger than 8.5 x 11 inches. Creativity is encouraged so be free to express yourself visually as well as in writing. Be sure that your statements are complete sentences and are free from grammatical and spelling errors. Support your ethics statement with a two-page support document that explains its origins. Your document should help me understand why you chose the items that were included in your statement. It should also reflect how you applied your learning in the course to what you have written.
To summarize, you will submit: An ethics statement suitable for framing A two-page support paper A cover sheet for evaluation.

Personal Mission Statement and Support Paper
A personal mission statement is the roadmap of any careerist. Project Unit 6 asks you to write your missions statement for your healthcare career. Your statement should articulate the values that guide you to think, to act, and to react to the world around you.
Unit 9 ProjectUnit 9 Project
Leadership Development Plan You will develop a business plan for your career
development in health services administration. Like a business plan, it should express your desired goals (both short and long term), your objectives, and the resources you need.
Your career plan paper should be 3 pages in length in addition to a title page and a reference page. Submit to Dropbox by the end of Unit 9.
