Leaders for 2019 Our leaders for 2019 have been announced. They are as follows, in no particular order; Jesse C, Zali M , Nevaia M, Cooper M, Cooper E and Kira W. Congratulations to these students. Their captain and prefect positions will be announced on Presentation Day.

PRESENTATION DAY We would like to INVITE all our Community, Parents and Friends of Gwandalan Public School to attend our end of year Special Presentation Day Assembly. This is a great opportunity for us to recognise the outstanding efforts of our students in 2019. Our End of Year Presentation Day is on Thursday 12th December. All parents, grandparents, carers and friends are invited to come along from 9:30-11.00am. All teachers will be recognising students in their classrooms. The school will be in contact with all parents of students

receiving class & special awards at the end of year presentation.

Talking to other Peoples Children

Please do not speak to other people’s children about incidents that happen at School. Children often report matters from their own perspective and facts can sometimes not be accurate. It is very intimidating for a child to be approached by, what to them, is a stranger. This should not happen around the school. Please report all incidents to us. It is our job to deal with them.

Out of Uniform Day

We have an Out of Uniform Day tomorrow, organised by our SRC, to raise money for the local rural fire service. Students who are out of uniform should bring a gold coin donation that will be collected by SRC representatives from each class.

Year 6 Graduation

Year 6 will have a special graduation ceremony on Monday 16th December at 5pm. Students are to come in formal dress rather than uniform. This year Year 6 have chosen to have an excursion to Luna Park as their farewell celebration rather than a dinner and a dance.

Kindergarten Graduation

Kindergarten will have a graduation ceremony as well on the same day at

1.30pm to celebrate completing their first year of school.

Carols by the Lake

Our school has been invited to perform at the Carols by the Lake event run by the Gwandalan Lioness Club on Sunday 15th December at 5pm. All classes are learning 2 carols to perform on the night and all students who attend will be part of our performance. Please support this local event.

Reports Home to Parents

ALL Year levels will be sent home on Monday 16th December. Any concerns please contact the school.

Principal’s Morning Tea

All students who have received their Principal’s Award (our highest PBL award) will have a special morning tea with me on Tuesday 17th December.

Last Day

Students last day for 2019 will be Wednesday 18th December.

UNIFORM SHOPS NEWS

Our uniform shop will be open in January on

Wednesday 22nd January from 12 pm until 3pm.

Thursday 23rd January from 9am until 12pm.

On line orders can be collected from the shop at the above times or the

School office on Tuesday 28th January.

Gwandalan Public School Presentation Day 2019

The school community is invited to our annual Presentation Day to be

held on Thursday 12th December, 2019. The Presentation will start at

9.30am and conclude by 11.15am.

The Presentation Day will include class awards, Athletic carnival awards,

Leadership awards and the major awards of recognition including the

Natani and Dux of the Year.

There will also be performances by the Aboriginal dance group,

Didgeridoo group, Ukulele group, Stage 2 Dance group and our Choir.

We look forward to you being there for this special celebration.

From the Office

Our office hours are 8.15am to 3.30pm. We accept cash, card and Parent on line payments (via school website). Notes can be dropped off at the office and put into the payment box at the front counter.

Notes

On Friday 29th November we having an out of uniform Mufti Day. SRC are raising money towards NSW Rural fire Brigade asking students to bring a gold coin donation. Year 4 students will have the opportunity in 2020 to lease a DEO notebook. A $40 deposit is due by the end of November 2019. Bookpack invoice for part payments from Terms 1, 2 & 3 are also due now.

Kindergarten Enrolment 2020

We are still taking Kindergarten Enrolments for 2020. Contact the office for enrolment information packs or queries.

Attendance

Again this term we are sending out sms messages to parents when students are absent. Please ensure that we have your correct mobile as we ask that you reply to these messages by phoning the school or recording the absence via the skoolbag application.

Medication

Is your child on medication at School?

If so, we would appreciate you arranging to have your child's medication prepared into a Webster pack. This is prepared for you at the Chemist. Many Chemists do this as a free service. However some charge a small amount.

2020 Buddies

BIG GIG

The Ukulele group and the Aboriginal

Dance group will be performing at the

Big Gig on Wednesday 11th December,

2019.

There will be a rehearsal on the

Wednesday, with the night

performance starting at 7.pm.

Performers will need to be at the high

school by 6.30pm.

A note will be sent home regarding

transport to and from the high school

for the day rehearsal tomorrow.
