Our Vice Chairman Mr G V Sanjay Reddy delivered the commencement address at the Michigan Ross Class

of 2015 ceremonies on 1May at Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. It was indeed interesting that he was bestowed with this unique honour, exactly 25 years after he had graduated from the same Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. Around 7000 students and alumni attended the meet.

During his address, he accredited the business school for shaping his life. He congratulated the students for graduating from one of the best business schools and wished them success for their future endeavours.

GVK CSIA has received the prestigious Management Consulting Association (MCA) award, UK for the ‘Best International Project Delivery for 2014’. The MCA awards are

unique as they are awarded to both the consultant and the client. The award was received by Mr Ashish Dongre for GVK CSIA along with Mr Tim Hawley of Arup. GVK CSIA has set a global benchmark competing against 20 other projects from various domains across the world. The jury pronounced GVK CSIA as one of the most challenging projects in terms of scale, expectations and socio cultural aspects.

GVK CSIA commemorated its nine years of

existence on 3 May by celebrating Passengers’ Day. At the stroke of midnight on Saturday (3 May), passengers were greeted with an announcement, ‘Happy Passengers Day’ that was followed by a professional dance performance at the T2. Many entertainment and engagement activities like caricature, tattoo-designing, magic shows, graphology, spin-art, snakes and ladders and ventriloquism were conducted for the passengers. 30 underprivileged kids were also invited from the Umang Foundation for an experiential journey of GVK CSIA’s iconic Terminal 2.

(ASQ) survey by Airport Council International (ACI). It has been chosen among 79 airports with a capacity of handling 5 -15 million passengers a year. GVK KIA has clocked 500-plus airport ambassadors for the ongoing ambassadors’ visit program. Last month, GVK KIA hosted 20 corporate representatives from Karnataka through CII for an airport induction. Also, 40 students and professors from Presidency College were taken for a tour around the cargo facility by Menzies

Aviation Bobba (Blr) Pvt. Ltd to understand the import and export processes. The students got a chance to see the operations of the incoming and outgoing cargo and steps involved in security clearances.

in Japan’s biggest pharma sourcing event - CPhI Japan which was organised during 22-24 April, 2015 at Tokyo, Japan. Japan is a strategic market for growth for GVK BIO. It is one of the highest per capita spending countries on medicines in the world, and is expected to reach a value of US $166 bn by 2023. The Japanese pharmaceutical market is Asia’s biggest with US $108.2 bn worth in 2014. This represents over 11% of the global drug market with a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 3.9% between 2013 and 2023. CPhI Japan served as a great platform to showcase GVK BIO’s capabilities to over 17,000 pharma professionals who visited the conference.

GVK EMRI-Assam in association with Assam’s Secretariat Administration Department conducted a mock disaster drill to enhance disaster preparedness, mitigation and response. GVK EMRI provided first aid to the injured participants and shifed them

to the nearby hospital for further treatment.
