Gurgaon Renewal Mission is a visible result oriented movement that was formed in November, 2011, to renew Gurgaon as the ‘Smart City’ of India. It is a major movement initiated by a coalition of partners, comprising civil society, business and government.
To take direct visible action to contribute towards resuscitating the city by addressing some of its ills.
To mobilize and align all stakeholders toward renewing the city by:Creating a movement that would spur action to address the key infrastructure and social development issues.Launching several social initiatives that would facilitate inclusive growth and contribution to the betterment of the underprivileged in the city.To campaign and work with the government to action projects in infrastructure development and governance issues.

Traffic has been identified as one of the most serious issue facing Gurgaon. The quality of transport infrastructure in the city has progressively deteriorated while the volume of inbound and outbound traffic has grown many folds leading to perpetual jams at key interjections.
Gurgaon has been home of rising crimes and violence against women since its past, the Sahara Mall incident was a case in point. The growth of such incidences is also attributed to the deteriorating social values of a fast-paced, fast changing society and the widening socio-economic divide.
‘Gurgaon’ is the name synonymous with an ultra modern city interspersed with high rises, bungalows, and excellent wide roads with fabulous infrastructure. It is growing as a world class city and now occupies a place of pride among the emerging cities of the country.
Gurgaon is the kind of city urban planners can learn from on how not to build a city. This, for various reasons: A private sector gone berserk because it was blindsided by greed, successive governments that abdicated responsibility, and apathy on part of the landed gentry.
Identify the most pressing issues of Gurgaon relating to Environment, Infrastructure & Governance.Undertake fact finding on most pressing issues.Publicize findings through PR strategy, website and social media strategy.Advocate to effect change with government, including judiciary.Foster a Vibrant GRM Network, comprising RWAs, senior citizens, advocacy groups, experts, influencers to help develop a “Prosperous Gurgaon.Undertake regular campaign activities driven by the GRM Network to build awareness among the general public.Spur collaborative initiatives around ‘environment, infrastructure & governance’ that would pave the way for creating a “Smart Gurgaon”.
