GUN CONTROL

The topic I chose is gun control. Currently in the U.S. many people are trying to destroy the constitution. They believe that the laws of the land should be forgotten. They believe

that are basic human rights should be ignored. They believe that the right to bear arms should be revoked.

There are other groups of people in support of upholding the constitution and the unalienable rights of individuals in this country. They support the freedom of people to possess weapons to defend themselves. They constantly fight off the people that wish to take away

weapons. The gun activists have so far been successful at defending the rights of Americans. There will continue to

be struggles to take weapons away from Americans, but the strong opposition to the removal of weapons will continue

to protect the country from losing their rights.

EXPLANATION/SUMMARY

An important event that occurred which effected gun control was the Sandy Hook shooting back in 2012. The vicious attacks by Ada Lanza

killed 26 people at an elementary school in Connecticut (). This ushered in a wave of shootings and media coverage unlike anything

that the world had ever experienced. There have been so many shootings that some people are becoming numb to them. Though I understand the horror that this man caused, it was the man that

killed, not the guns.

The mans crazy actions- unloading on elementary school students with semi automatic weapons- started a movement to stop the usage of guns in America. This was a critical moment because of

all the publicity the story got. It allowed guns to be portrayed in a negative light. Since the incident the battle between gun activists

and gun haters has raged. This shooting showed the destruction that guns could create.

SANDY HOOK

Another important shooting occurred not long before the Sandy Hook fiasco. A man walked into a movie theater showing the Dark Knight Rises. He then proceeded to

unload at the audience killing twelve unarmed individuals (Hughes). He did this under the supposable defense of

insanity. This is another important shooting that has caused the fearful outlook on guns.

Similar to the case above, guns did not decide to kill those people. A person made the decision. He made a

terrible decision that further helped people recognize that this is an issue that needs to be fixed. This case has also helped the construction of background checks become a solution to the problem of shootings. This event though

terrible, may lead too more saved lives in the future.

The controversy of this issue comes from the people who want to have free rights to guns and those who are anti guns. While the majority of people seem happy with the

proposed solutions, some want more. The extensive background checks have been accepted, but there is still an undoubtebly strong push for reform. This is from those who

want to take away the rights of Americans. The gun activists have continued to defend against this.

While gun activists chant that guns do not kill people. The anarchists against the second amendment

disagree. It is obvious that people kill people. The gun is only the tool that is used in the act. The controversy is that

some people are too blind to realize this common truth.

THE CONTROVERSY

There are groups such as the NRA that defend the people in America. They fight against Obama and his followers that wish to enslave the people of America. They rally together

to support legislations that benefit gun activists. They support politicians to help get laws passed. They uphold the constitution by not allowing people to trample the nations

laws.

These groups have been vital to stopping gun rights from being taken away. Members from around the nation have come together to fight this growing movement. They

are the leaders in gun rights and have so far been successful. They also support the background checks on individuals. However, they disagree that guns and ammo

sales should be restricted beyond that.

INTEREST GROUP 4NRA

You know that thing called the bill of rights? The thing that basically gives you the ability to not get stomped on by the government? Yah that. That is what is at risk due to people trying to take away the rights of the second amendment.
