Farewell 2011Farewell 2011t was the time to say Au Revoir to the senior most class of the school. 11th standard students were organizing a huge party for them. Preparations Iwere going on since a week.

The day had come and all the seniors were in their best attire. Eleventhies gave a good performance to the seniors in the form of dancing, singing and fashion shows.

Visit of Sanjay Krishan Koul Neeraj Krishan Koul

Hon’ble Judge of Delhi High COurt

Senior Advocate Delhi High Court&

Sanjay Krishan Koul , Hon’ble Judge Delhi High Court and Neeraj Krishan Koul , Senior Advocate Delhi High Court visited DPS Srinagar on 12th April. They described the school as a massive structure with a state of art infrastructure. The guests were impressed by the facilities provided by the school and were all praises for the intelligence shown by the students.

Scholastic Book Fair

book fair was held in DPS Srinagar by Scholastic. This corporation is

world's largest publisher and distributer of children's books. The book Afair was inaugurated by Mr. K.K. Sharma Principal of DPS Srinagar.

Children were very enthusiastic in buying the books. One of the main

attractions was a costumed character who represented the cartoon character

of Clifford. The character even visited all the classes of tiny tots to increase the

excitement of the book fair.

Visit of Wajahat Habibullah

Mr and Mrs Wajahat Habibullah, Ex Chief Information

Commissioner of the Government of India, visited DPS on 18th

April 2011. They were been given a tour of the school. Mr

Habibullah found the tiny tots area very pleasant for the kids. There was a

question answer session where he gave his view about democracy in India .

Mrs Habibullah being a teacher herself, was very impressed by the

infrastructure of DPS.

PTMs (Parent Teacher Meet) - April 2011

PTM, a day that students don't want to come, was organised four times during

the month of April. The classrooms were thronged with enthusiastic parents.

The atmosphere was mixed with emotions ranging from excitement to gloom

while some were busy boasting about their grades, others found it necessary

to run away as far as possible from their parents. The tiny tot's atrium was full

of hustle and bustle as the children were playing with their parents and

showing things around. During the PTM 5th class students performed

“Nukkad Natak “ to educate people about child marriage, girl education , child

labor and to save environment.

Investiture Ceremony

In a vibrant ceremony on 29th April 2011, a prefect body was sworn in. The ceremony comprised of various performances . Mrs Saira Raza announced the names of the prefects who were then presented with sachets and badges by Mrs Kiran Dhar.

These badges represent their position in the prefect body. Mrs Sira Raza administered the oath to the new student's council. The general atmosphere in the ceremony can be described as vibrant, full of life and the air had essence of excitement which was amplified as soon as the names of the new prefects were taken.

Glimpses of Investiture Ceremony

Cross Country Run (6th - 8th)

It was 5:30 in the morning and the students were pouring in the school campus. Teachers were busy writing their names. Everyone was in their house uniforms looking colorful and cheerful. There was an excitement in

the air as they all were looking forward for the cross country run. There were 240 in number, girls and boys from class 6 – 8. School buses dropped all the students at the Zadibal Park. All the students assembled at the start line by 6:30 am. The DPS flag was flow and everyone started running. Students were pushing and pulling each other to come first at the finish line which was at Nishat Bagh. It was a beautiful experience for the students as well as the teachers.
