and conposer, was born in Cairo, Egypt. For many years he hasmade his home in Milan, ltaly. To his credit are more than 100articles covering all subjects connected with guitar technique,which have appeared in Guitar News, and nearly 300 publishedworks for the guitar. Twice he has won international prizes forcompositions, and his music is frequently heard in recitals andon records. He has often served on juries for international guitarcompetitions. In 1969 and 1970 he conducted Master Classes atIthaca College, Ithaca, New York. Another has been announcedfor July 1971.

MARIAN HARRISON is on the staff of The MetropolitanMuseum of Art, where she is Senior Cataloguer of Musical In-struments and Western European Ceramics. She holds an M.A.in Art History from Columbia Uniíversity. Her interest in playingthe guitar developed several years ago through participating inthe Frederick Noad television series on classic guitar technique.For the past two years her studies have continued through pri-vate instruction. She combines an interest in music with tourna-ment tennis.

AnonymousTHOMAS F. HECK began his study of the classic guitar inParis, where he lived for a number of years ohile his father toasstationed fhore with the State Department. Upon completing hisFrench baccalaureate he returned to the U.S.A. to enter NotreDame, where he received his B.A. degree. After spending ayearat the Academy of Music in Vienna on a Fullbright Award, heientered the graduate program at Yale University, earning hisPh.D, degree in Music History in 1970. At present he is servingas a First Lieutenant in the U.s. Army.
