Guideline for SWYAA Annual Country Reports
January to December 2015
This is a general guideline for each SWYAA when writing the annual report. Each Alumni Association has the
freedom to add/delete specific information. The annual report will be uploaded on the SWYAA official website.
Photos related to major post-program activities of each Alumni Association should be sent together with the
annual report (photos should be in jpeg, maximum 10 pictures in high resolution, please add explanation).

Before the final interviews of the selection process for the Mexican
delegation SWYL 28, we decided to have a barbecue near Mexico City.
The picture shows a lot of free time but we also spent quite some time
discussing the profiles for the final interviews.

The 5th of December is the "International Volunteer Day for Economic
and Social Development" according to the UN. SWYAA Mexico and
SWYAA Sweden challenged all SWYAA-members* to make a social
contribution around or on this date.
It is the second edition of The Cross-Atlantic Twin Project and this year
it was a blood donation ralley
This is how it worked: 1) Look up the Facebook event called "Cross Atlantic Twin Project
2015" and mark "attend".
2) Invite all friends that you think has a good heart and want to help
others.
3) Donate yourself - or if you cannot - bring a friend who is willing to
donate blood, or just show up and register as a future donor - that also
counts!
4) Take a selfie in front of the hospital, health centre or mobile donation
unit and post it to the Facebook event called "Cross Atlantic Twin
Project 2015".
5) Enjoy feeling like a superhero - your donation can save a life!

the event Some ExPYs participated in the event Feria de las Culturas
Amigas 2015 in Mexico City where we brought some
traditional national outfits for people to take pictures with us.
We also wrote Mexican names in other languages.
We invited people to donate for helping students in Nepal. We
collected $7,900 MXN to send to Nepal through the
organization Save the children.

One of the stages for the selection process of new delegates is to
participate in a social contribution activity during one full day. The four
cities mentioned above were venues for Mexicans to apply for the
selection process, therefore these four venues hosted one social
contribution activity each.
Activities in these four cities included: cleaning, planting trees and
painting public spaces.

If there is anyone from your AA who had major achievements in their professional work or voluntary

Summary: The Mexican delegation “In lak’ech” for SWYL 2016 hosted an event to present themselves
officially to the authorities. We had the pleasure to have the participation of the Ambassador of Japan in
Mexico Mr. Yamada. We also had the participation of the Mexican Youth Institution and representatives of
other institutions that have collaborated with SWYAA México and with the new delegation.
Name of the event: Selection process for SWYL 2016
Date of the event: From June 8th to August 31st 2015
Hosting City: Mexico City, Querétaro, Monterrey, Guadalajara and Villahermosa (Open call nationwide)
How many ex-PYs involved: 40
Summary: SWYAA México shared a proposal for the selection process with the Embassy of Japan. Then,
the Embassy shared their comments and we reached an agreement for this year’s selection process.
The selection process had 6 stages:
1.- Online application form
2.- Written exams
3.- Social contribution activity
4.- Teamwork activities and roundtable discussions
5.- Psychometric tests
6.- Final interview
SWYAA México operates all stages. For stage 6 Final Interview, the Embassy of Japan and the Mexican
Youth Institution participated conducting the interviews along with SWYAA México.
There were 1,313 people applying for the program in stage 1.
