Saturday, April 14

Welcome the Whales Tour

Meet the bus in Oak Harbor, Coupeville or Freeland for an informative trip to Welcome the Whales in Langley. On our way we’ll learn about marine mammals of Puget Sound. When we arrive in Langley, buy lunch, wear your favorite critter costume and join the parade. Visit the Whale Center, meet the experts and participate in the festivities. *ADA Accessible.

Join the Critter Parade at Welcome the Whales.

A Walk in the Woods Tour

Meet at WiFire in Freeland for a tour on trails at Greenbank Farm, South Whidbey State Park and Trillium Community Forest. Bring a day pack, a water bottle and a bag lunch. Walk with naturalists who will guide us on well used trails to point out plants and animals and tell stories of each place. Must be able to walk up to 5 miles.

Central Whidbey History Tour

We’ll start with a walking tour through

downtown Coupeville, one of the oldest

towns in Washington, with history

teachers from Skagit Valley College. Then

we’ll catch the bus for sweeping views of

Ebey’s Prairie on our way to Fort Casey.

Bring a picnic. After lunch we’ll tour the

lighthouse and the fort with a State Park

guide. Return to Coupeville with time to

visit the Historical Museum ($2 entry fee).

Saturday, August 18

Farmer’s Market Special

Bring your sun hat and shopping bags to

the Coupeville Park & Ride and catch the

bus to the Coupeville Farmer’s Market.

Enjoy the festive atmosphere. Then take

the bus to the Bayview Farmer’s Market

with Judy Feldman, the Director of the

Organic Farm School. Buy lunch from one

of the market vendors, a Bayview Corner

café or bring your own bag lunch.

Friday, June 22

Historic Barn Tour Travel with Harrison Goodall, an Historic Preservation Specialist, to see some of North Whidbey’s most attractive historic barns. We’ll start in Oak Harbor, make a loop around north Whidbey, swing through Coupeville and then circle around Crockett Lake. We’ll stop at Rosehip Farm before returning to Oak Harbor.
