Introduction

Vblock™ Infrastructure Platforms releases are thoroughly tested and certified with specific software and firmware versions of each component in the Vblock Platform. This document lists the certified versions of components for Release 2.5.5.1 for the Vblock Series 700 model MX (700MX).

When upgrading to the current release, you must upgrade all components that are listed for the release. Vblock platforms are supported only when all components are running the certified version.

To ensure successful installation and operation of Vblock Infrastructure Platforms Release 2.5.5.1, review the information in the Vblock™ Infrastructure Platforms Release 2.5.5.1 Release Notes. Refer to Accessing VCE documentation.

Support window

These certified software, firmware, and hardware versions are valid from November 2011 through May 2013.

The Release Certification Matrix documents are independent of each other. Customers do not have to upgrade releases in sequential order. Customers have the option to select a valid Release Certification Matrix that best fits their requirements.

Introduction

Release 2.5.5.1 Certification Matrix purpose statement

Vblock Infrastructure Platforms Release 2.5.5.1 is a maintenance release for Vblock platforms. The focus of this release is to upgrade the VMware vSphere Hypervisor ESXi host with a security patch.

Release 2.5.5.1 changes for Vblock 700MX

Vblock Infrastructure Platforms Release 2.5.5.1 introduces the following changes for Vblock 700MX since Release 2.5.5:

If your system has Cisco UCS 6248 FIs, you must use the “Cisco Custom Image for ESXi 5.0 Install CD” that contains the correct PALO drivers for the Cisco UCS 6248 FIs in the base image.
