MissionToservetheintellectualandspiritualneedsofstudentsbyusingacombinationofthetraditionalapproachesinQur’anicrecitationandmemorizationextendingbacktothetimeofRasulullah[Muhammad](SAW),coupledwiththemosthighlyregardedmoderneducationalbestpracticesincludingindividualizedlearninggoalsandregularindependentassessmentofprogressforhifdth,aswellascustomizedonlineacademicinstruction.

BackgroundandHistoryThe ideaforAlBayaan Institutestartedback in2004whenanumberofdedicatedteachersandfamiliesbeganworking in theNorthFultonarea todevelopprogramsandhalaqaat focusedon the readingandmeaningoftheQu’ran.Itwasnotthebrainchildofanyoneperson,rathertheconnectionandevolutionof ideasover a seven year periodduringwhich a networkof teachers andprogramswasestablished in the area, Alhamdulillah. The Institute was officially established as a Roswell CommunityMasjideducationprograminMarchof2012.

Policy Overview

1. Parentsandstudentsshallbecomefamiliarwiththeparent/studenthandbookbyreadinganddiscussingittogetherathome.ParentsandstudentsmustsignandreturntheFamilyHandbookAcknowledgementofReceiptandUnderstandingformatthebackofthisbookthefirstdayofschool.

2. TheInstitutereservestherighttomodifythesepoliciesatanytimeduringthecourseoftheyearasseenfitforthebestoperationoftheInstitute.Parentswillbenotifiedofallchangesinschoolpolicy.

3. ParentsshallunderstandthattuitionandfeesmustbepaidwithinthetimeperiodoutlinedinthishandbookandthatfailuretodosowillresultinimmediateparentnotificationandstudentsuspensionuntiltuitionispaidunlessnotificationandalternativearrangementshavebeenmadewiththeExecutiveDirector,SamerBashir

4. Allstudents,parents,andstaffmemberswillupholdABI’ssafetyanddisciplinepoliciesasspecifiedherein.

5. Studentattendanceismandatoryandabsencesmustbereportedbytheparentsinaccordancewithschoolpolicy.Arrangementsforexcusedabsencesaretheresponsibilityofthestudentsandtheirparents.

6. Parentswillbekeptinformedofstudentprogress.Pleasecontactusbyemailorphoneifyouwouldliketodiscussanymatterconcerningyourchild.Pleasekeepinmindthatmeetingsrequireanappointmentasstaffandvolunteertimeisdedicatedtoyourchild’smemorizationunlesswehavemadeother arrangements.

7. Studentsareexpectedtokeepupwithallacademicassignedworkthroughtheirrespectiveacademicprogramsandshouldbepreparedforallscheduledhifdthassessmentsandacademicexams.

8. StudentswilldressinaccordancewiththeDressCodePolicyoutlinedhereinatalltimes,includingbutnot limitedtoschoolsponsoredactivities,fieldtrips,conferences,etc…

9. ABIcannotexistwithoutthecooperationandsupportfromparentsandtheABIcommunity.TomakeABIanexcellentplaceforourchildrentolearnandgrow,allfamiliesarerequiredtovolunteeratotalof20hoursperfamilyperyear.Intheeventthatyouareunabletomeetthisobligationthanpleasedonate$10perhouroratotalof$200peryear.

AdmissionPoliciesandEnrollmentTheAdmissionPolicyatABIseekstoenrollstudentswiththeintentionofcompletingthememorizationoftheentireQuranwithinseveralyears,takingintoaccountthatcompletiontimewillvaryfromstudenttostudentinabilityandcircumstances.ThefollowingwillbeevaluatedtodeterminestudentreadinesstocompletethistaskatABI:

1. AdmitstudentsinaccordancewithABI’sfluency,academic,andbehavioralstandards;2. Detect the readinessandcompatibilityof students joining theABIprogram;3. Detectachievementlevelsofstudentspriortoadmission;4. Acquaintstudentsandparentswiththeschoolpolicy,environment,andexpectationsof

bothparentsandstudents;5. ABIisoperatedonanon-discriminatorybasis,accordingequaltreatmentandaccessto

serviceswithoutanyregardtorace,color,nationalorigin,affiliationorancestryinadministrationofitsadmissionandeducationalpolicies,scholarshipandfinancialaidprograms,orotherInstituteadministered programs.

Duetolimitedspaceandenrollmentdemand,thefollowingcriteriainorderhavebeenadoptedtodetermineadmissionsprioritytoABI:

1. StudentswhodonotmeettheadmissionsrequirementslistedabovewillnotbeadmittedtoABI.2. ReturningstudentsthathavemetABI’sminimumacademic/behaviorstandardsandarenoton

academicorbehaviorprobationwillbere-admitteduponcompletionandsubmissionoftheRe-enrollmentformbythegivendeadline(sentoutbyAdministrationbeforethewinterandsummerbreaks).AstudentwhoseprobationperiodexpiresduringthistimeandhasnotmettheconditionsoftheprobationwillNOTbe re-admitted.

3. Staffmemberswhosechildrenmeetthequalificationswillbeconsideredapplicantsafterreturningstudents.

4. AnysiblingsofreturningstudentsthathavemetABI’sminimumacademic/behaviorstandardsbasedontheirpreviousschoolrecords,willbeadmitteduponcompletionandsubmissionoftheenrollmentpackagebythegivendeadlineandsuccessfulcompletionofalladmissionsrequirements.

5. NewstudentsthathavemetABI’sminimumacademic/behaviorstandardsbasedontheirpreviousschoolrecords,willbeadmitteduponcompletionandsubmissionoftheenrollmentpackagebythegivendeadlineandsuccessfulcompletionofalladmissionsrequirements.

6. In thecaseof limitedspaceandequallyqualifyingapplications, returningstudentswillbepreferredover newapplicants.Newapplicantswhoequally qualifywill be admitted according to thedateofapplication.

7. Uponfillingallvacancies,theremainingstudentswillbeplacedonthewaitinglistrankedinaccordancewiththeprecedingsteps.Studentswhoequallyqualifyforadmissionatanylevelwillberankedaccordingtothedatetheirapplicationwasreceived.

8. Ifspacesremainopenandthetajweedteacher’s(orteachers)timeallows,candidateswhoseQuranreadingskillsarebelowtheadmissioncriteriamaybeadmittedforaprobationaryperiodtodetermineiftheirskillscanquicklybebroughtuptoasufficientreadinglevelandtheysufficientlyprogresswithassignedmemorization.

AdmissionRequirementsAl-Bayaanacceptsstudentsageseleven(11)throughfifteen(15),onorbeforeAugust31st.Studentsareadmittedintotheprogramduringopenenrollmenttwiceayear(summerandwinter)followingtheAdmissionsCommitteeacceptanceandsatisfactorycompletionofpre-requisiteapplicationmaterials.Additionalapplicantsmaybeconsideredmid-semesterifspacesbecomeavailableduetostudentsleavingorgraduating.Quranfluencytests(QFT)areavailableyearroundbycontactingtheprogramatadmissions@albayaaninstitute.orgorfillingoutthewebsiterequest.DeadlinesvarywiththeinterestlevelintheprogramandareannouncedonthewebsiteandviaRCMmedia.NotedeadlineshavebeenasearlyasJanuaryforthesummersemesterifthereisawaitinglistorasignificantamountofinterest.WinterapplicantsshouldcontactABIandinquireaboutQFTasearlyasSeptemberforJanuaryadmissions.

Allnewstudentsareonprobationfortheirfirstninety(90)dayswiththeInstituteandmaybedismissedfromtheprogramatanytimethereinforvalidacademicordisciplinaryreasons.Theparent’ssignatureontheEnrollmentFormmeansacceptanceofallcurrentschoolpolicies.EnrollmentintheInstituterequiresfull-timeattendanceforallgradelevels.Factorstobeconsideredinevaluatingapplicationsforadmissioninclude:

1. AbilitytoreadtheQu’ranproficiently includingknowledgeofbasicmakhaarijandtajweed*2. Proofofgoodacademicstanding–reportcardorschooltranscriptsforthepasttwoyears,70%

averageoraboverequired.3. Characterreferences(lettersofrecommendation)–twolettersfromeitheraschoolteacher,

communitymember,orIslamicweekendschool teacher4. Ashortessayexplainingwhy“IwanttobeaHafidh”–minimumoneparagraph,double-spaced5. Formal interviewwiththeAdmissionsCommittee forbothparentsandstudents.

AdmissionRestrictions

1. ChildrenwithemotionalandlearningdisabilitiescannotbeacceptedatABI,asprogramsarenotavailabletomeettheneedsofthesechildren.

2. Afteracceptingastudent,ifitisdeterminedthathe/shehasemotional,behavioralproblems,and/orseverelearningdisabilities,etc..,thestudentmaybereferredoutofABItoaprogramthatisdesignedtomeethis/herlearningneeds.

3. Afteradmission,anystudentdiagnosedasinadequatelyfamiliarwiththeEnglishlanguagewithintheprobationaryperiodwillberecommendedtoapublicorprivateESLprogramandmaynotcontinueattendingABI.

4. StudentswithanyotherspecialneedsthatcannotbeaddressedbyABI’sresourceswillbereferredtoanappropriateinstitution.

*NoteontheQu’ranFluencyPrerequisite:Allstudentsarerequiredtotakeareadingproficiencytest(QFA)priortoadmission.IfdeemednecessarybytheAdmissionsCommittee,astudentmayberequiredtorelearnthemakhaarijpriortoenrollingintheprogram.

Studentsaredismissedfromtheschoolandthestudent’srideshouldcometotheschoolstafforvolunteerandletthemknowtheyleaving.

CalendarABIisanon-resident,dayprogramhousedattheRoswellCommunityMasjid.TheQur’anmemorizationprogramisyear-round.Forthosebreakslistedthatarecountybreaks,theywillco-ordinatewithFultonCounty.SomeacademicprogramssuchasGCAparticipateinstandardizedtestinginthespring.ThisdatevariesfromyeartoyearbutisgenerallythethirdweekinAprilforK-8andthefirstweekinMayforHighSchool.Studentsmaybegivenpermissiontotakethesetestingdaysofforcomefor½day.Graduations,RCMeventsrequestingourparticipation,orguestvisitors,orfieldtripsareannouncedbyWhat’sAppandemailand/orEvite.

LateFees&CollectionPolicy

1. Paymentsaredueonthefifteenth(15th)ofeachmonth.2. Anypaymentreceivedafterthe15thofthemonthisconsideredpastdueandachargeof$15.00perstudentwill

be applied.3. Accountsnotrectifiedbythe20thofthemonthwillbegivenawrittennoticefollowedbyasuspension

warningforeachstudentontheaccount.4. If theaccount remainsunsettledoranalternativepaymentarrangement isnotagreeduponby the30thof the

month, studentson theaccountwillbesuspendeduntilpayment is receivedorappropriatearrangementshavebeenmade.

5. Nochildwillbere-admittedtotheschoolifthereremainsoutstandingtuitionduefromaprevioussemesteroryear.

FinancialAidAvailabilityoffinancialaiddependsontheamountallocatedbyRCMfromthezakatfund,aswellasthegenerosityofprivatedonors.Tobeconsideredforfinancialaid,familiesinneedmustcompleteaFinancialAidApplicationFormconta ined intheAppendixofthisdocumentandsubmititwithallsupportingdocumentstotheABIAdministrator,Dr.ShehlaAltafwhowillthensubmitittothefinancecommitteeofRCM.Familieswhoqualifyforfinancialaidwillstillberesponsiblefortheremainderofthetuitionbalanceforeachchild.Financialaiddoesnotcoverextracurricularactivityfees.AnychangeinthefinancialstatusoffinancialaidrecipientsshouldbereportedinwritingtotheABIAdministratorinordertomaketheallocatedfundsavailabletoother.

WithdrawalInthecasethataparentdesirestowithdrawastudentfromtheInstitutepriortoanagreeduponfinish/reviewdate,theWithdrawalFormmustbecompletedbytheparent,eachABIcurricularresourcemustbesubmittedtotheAdministratorwhowillsignoffonthewithdrawalform,alloutstandingbalancesmustbepaidinfulltotheaccountingdepartment,andtheAdministrator’ssignaturemustbeobtainedbeforeunexcusedabsenceswillstopbeingcounted,recordsmaybereleased,andapplicablefamilyaccountsclosed.Onceknowledgeofastudent’stransfertoanotherschoolisacquiredorachildfailstoappearwithinthefirstfiveschooldaysandtheirtuitionhasnotbeenpaid,thewithdrawalprocedurewilltakeeffectandthecollectionontheaccountwillproceed accordingly.

30-DayNoticeforIntenttoWithdraw:GiventhatABIisoperatingaspartofanon-profitorganization,itisheavilydependentuponthepaymentoftuition,andthedirectlossincurredbyawithdrawnstudentisverydamagingandthereforerequiresparentstosubmitwrittennoticeofintenttowithdrawthirtydayspriortotheintendedwithdrawaldate.Thisgivestheschooltimetoreplacethestudentwithastudentonthewaitinglist.

Inthecaseofwithdrawalatanytimeduringtheschoolyear:

1. Tuitionwillbechargedfortheremainderofthesemester,noexceptions.2. Studentswhoarewithdrawnwithouta30-daynoticewillbebilledfortheentiresemesterand

collectionprocedureswillbea p p l i e d .3. Uponwithdrawal,theregistrationfeeisforfeitedandwillberequiredif/whenthestudentwishes

to re-enroll.4. Anyextra-curricularactivityfeeswillNOTberefundedifcancelationperiodshavepassedandaparenthas

notnotifiedtheadministration.DonationsAlldonations(sadaqafunds)aregreatlyappreciated.Pleasenotethatalldonationsareacceptedonthebasisthatthegivingindividualisprovidingthedonationasagestureofgenerosityandkindnesswithnoexpectationofanythinginreturn.Alldonationsaretaxdeductible,nonrefundable,andnottransferable.DonationsmaybeplacedintheABIboxintheRCMschoolhallway.

HifdthProgramMethodologyTheAl-BayaanInstituteapproachincorporatesthebestpracticesinclassicalQur’anicinstructionalongwithastrongsupportsystemthatallowsforindividualcustomization.ABI,individuallearningplanstosetthepacingandindividualoutcomes.Theseplanstakeintoconsiderationastudent’sstrengths,skills,learningpreferences,andabilities,anddevelopovertimewithongoingassessments.Wecloselymonitorourstudents’progressinmeetingtheirindividuallearninggoalsandcommunicatewithparents/guardiansonaweeklybasistoensureeachstudentisperformingtohis/herbestability.

HifdthisarigoroustaskthatrequiresaverystructuredandorganizedapproachandhifdhinstructiontakesplaceunderthedirecttutelageoftheUstadth/Ustadthah(Hifdhteacher).Thislearningistheconnectionastudentisestablishingwiththehistorical,oralQur’anictraditionwhichgoesbacktotheProphetMuhammad( لصا معایھ و لص هللا ).Inadditiontotheclosemonitoringandsupportprovidedbyourinstructorsandadministrators.

TheinstructionalmethodsusedbyABIinstructorsensureabalancebetweenthepreservationofthepreviousworkcommittedtomemoryaswellasmasteryofthenewlessons.Thefollowingisanoutlineoftheprocesswe follow:

• Sabaq(newlesson)–SabaqisanUrduwordwhichmeanslesson.Itreferstoanewlesson

memorizedatnighttobepresentedtotheteacheronthefollowingday.Themorefluentthestudentiswiththesabaq,theeasierforhim/hertomaintaintheQur’an.Itmustbereadywhenthechildarrivesatschool.Newstudentswillreadthistoateacheratschoolandmemorizeitathome

thatnight.• Sabqi(recentlessons)–Sabqiaretherecentlymemorizedversesthatarerecitedonadaily

basis.Thispracticehelpstoreinforcelong-termretentionasnewversescommittedtomemoryareeasilyforgotten.

• Manzil(oldlessons)–OnceastudenthasmemorizedasubstantialamountoftheQur’an,itwillthenbenecessaryforhim/hertoroutinelymaintainthisknowledge.ThisisdonebydividingtheQur’anintoportions.Eachportionwillberecitedinsequenceandrepeatedonaregularcycle.

• MontlyManziltestsaregivenasameanstomeasureretentionandhelptokeeppreviouslymemorizedworkstrong.

• EachstudentwillbeprovidedwithanindividuallearningplanandTrackingLogandallthethreeabovementionedlessonswillberecordeddailyinthisbook.

ParentalCommitmentAlthoughitisthechildwhowillbeundertakinghifdthandonlinelearning,itisveryimportanttoappreciatethatparentsneedtobehighlyinvolvedonadailybasis.Examplesofeffectiveparentalinvolvementare:

3. Prioritiesneedtobeclear.IfachildisgoingtobeabsentfromABIonaregularbasisforwhateverreason,thiswillaffectconsistency.Parentsneedtothinkaboutsuchissuesbeforeadmittingtheirchildandbewillingtorearrangetheirschedulesinordertogiveprioritytotheprogramforitsentireduration.

4. Parentalsupportandcooperationisessential.Thus,whereABIraisesconcerns,parentsneedtoappreciate theseconcernsandsupportABI in implementingrecommendationsthataremade.

Rollerskates,in-lineskatesandskateboardsarenotallowedonRCMproperty.TheymustberemovedattheRCMpropertyboundaryandstoredinasafeplaceduringtheschoolday.IfusedonRCMproperty,skatesand/orskateboardswillbeconfiscatedonthefirstoffense.

MedicationsWheneverpossible,achild'smedicalregimenshouldbecarriedoutathome;however,anystudentwhoisrequiredtotakemedicationduringtheregularschooldaymustcomplywiththeguidelinesoutlinedbelow.Theschool’sAdministratormustbenotifiedifanymedicationistobeusedduringschoolandmedicationswillbeadministeredintheofficenotintheclassroom.FormsfortakingmedicineandforgeneralhealtharecontainedintheAppendixandmustbereturnedinordertohavemedicineatschool.

PrescriptionMedicationWrittenordersfromaphysiciandetailingthenameofthestudent,thedrugdosage,reasonforgiving,andtimemedicationistobegiven,andanypossiblesideeffectsandsuggestedfirstaidforsideeffects,mustbereceivedbytheAdministratororherdesignatedstaffbeforethemedicationcanbegiven.CompletionoftheMedicalReleaseFormisneededforeachseparatemedication.ThisformisavailablefromtheAdministrator.

Allmedicationsmustbeprocessedthroughthemainofficeforappropriatedocumentation.MedicationmustbebroughttoABIinacontainerappropriatelylabeledbythepharmacyorphysicianwiththestudent'sname,physician'sname,dateoforiginalprescription,nameandstrengthofmedicationanddirectionsfortaking.

StudentsmustreporttotheAdministratoratthedesignatedtimeformedications.Studentswithchronicillnesses(e.g.seizuredisorders,cysticfibrosis,diabetes,etc.),whoareresponsibleforself-administeringtheirmedicationswillbeallowedtocontinuethispractice.However,medicationsshallbekeptintheofficeunlessotherwiseindicated.Unusedmedicationshallbereturnedtoparent/guardianfordisposal.Non-PrescriptionMedicationsThe ABIMedical Release Formmust be completed if a non-prescription/over---the---countermedication is to be usedduringschoolhoursoractivities.Non-prescriptionmedicationsmustbebroughttoschoolintheiroriginalcontainerandmustbeleftattheschool’smainoffice.

FieldTripsMedicationsneededonfieldtripmustbeinpharmacy/physicianlabeledcontainer.Parentscanaskthepharmacy/physicianforanemptylabeledcontainerforfieldtrips.AdesignatedABIemployeegoingonthetripcanadministerthemedication;parentsmustfilloutamedicationauthorizationformforeachmedication(ifauthorizationisnotalreadyonfileattheschool).

Nochildshallhaveprescriptionornon---prescriptiondrugsonhis/herpersonduringtheschoolday.Anexceptionwillbemadeforupperelementaryandmiddleschoolchildrenwhouseinhalersforrespiratoryconcerns,epi---pensforsevereallergies,andinsulinfordiabetes.However,theschoolofficemusthavepriorwrittenpermissionfromthechild’sparents/legalguardianandthephysician.Uniqueindividualcircumstanceswillbehandledinconsultationwiththechild'sphysicianandparent.

Allmedications,prescriptionandover-the-counter,shouldbeclearlylabeledwiththestudent’snameandpresentedwithwrittendirectionsforadministrationfromaphysicianconsistentwiththelabeleddirections.Wealsorequirewrittenpermissionfromtheparentorguardiantoadministerthemedicationinschool.Studentsmaynotkeepanymedicationintheirpersonaleffectsorinclassrooms.

FirstAid,Allergies,IllnessandEmergencies

FirstAidOuron-sitestaffcanprovidelimitedcare(i.e.cleanseawound,puticeonabump,assistastudentwhoneedsregularmedicine,etc.)andwillcallparentstopickupsickorinjuredchildren.

AllergiesPleasealertustoanyallergiesyourchildmayhaveandprovidemedication(ifnecessary)topreventaseriousallergicreaction.Thisincludesallergiestoplants,animals,foods,medicines,andothersubstances.

IllnessandAccidentsIfyourchildhasanillnessoraccidentthatrequiresoutsideattention,youwillbenotifiedtocomepickhim/herupfromABI.Ifneitherparentcanbereached,wewillfollowtheemergencyprocedureonyourchild’smedicalpermissionform.Ifyourchildcontractsacommunicablediseasewithrisksofexposingotherchildren,pleasenotifyusimmediatelysothatwecanadviseourstaff.Whenanaccidentdoesoccur,anAccidentReportwillbecompletedandtheAdministratormustbenotified.

GuidelinesRegardingSickChildren

Inthebestinterestsofourstudentsandstaff,ABIhassetforthsuggestedguidelinestohelpmaintainahealthycommunity.Theyareasfollows:

1. Fever:Childrenshouldbewithoutfever(<99.5)for24hoursormorebeforereturningtoschool.

Childrenidentifiedwithfever(99.5)atschoolwillbekeptoutoftheclassroomtopreventfurther

spreadofinfection.AschoolrepresentativewillnotifytheparentandthechildwillberequiredtobepickedupfromABI.

2. Vomiting:Nochildcanstayatschoolaftervomiting.AnABIrepresentativewillnotifytheparentandthechildwillberequiredtobepickedupfromschool.Childrenshouldbewithoutvomitingfor24hoursormorebeforereturningtoclass.

3. Diarrhea:Childrenshouldbewithoutdiarrheafor24hoursormore,keepinginmindthatsomeantibioticsandmedicationscancausediarrheathatisnotcontagious.

4. RunnyNose:Clearrunnynosesareacceptablewithoutothersymptoms.Anygreen,yellow,orpus---likerunnynosesmayberelatedtoinfectionandshouldbeevaluatedbyaphysician.Thechildmayreturntoschoolaftertreatmenthasbegun.

5. StrepThroat:ChildrenmayreturntoABIafteratleast24hoursofantibiotictreatmentandnofeverfor24 hours.

6. Rashes:SomechildrenmayneedtobeclearedbyaphysicianbeforeattendingABI.7. ChickenPox:Childrenmayreturntoschoolwhenalllesionsarecrusted over.8. PinWorms:Treatmentshouldbegiventoreducespread.9. RingWorm:Childmayreturntoschoolaftertreatmentbegins.10. Conjunctivitis:(“pinkeye”)Bacterialconjunctivitismustbetreatedforatleast24hoursbefore

andremovalofallindividualeggs.Beforereturningtotheclassroom,thechildmustbebroughttotheAdministratortoobtainapassfromtheconfirmingthatnonitsarepresent.Ifanyofourstaffobservesnitsorlice,thechildmaynotattendclassandtreatmentshouldcontinue.

FoodPolicyParentsarerequiredtosupplya lunchandanutritioussnack, lunch,andbeverage(s)forthechild. ABIhasa refrigerator for lunchboxesasneeded.Students shouldnotbring snacksor lunches thatare toomessyforthechildtomanage. Lunchshouldbepackedinre-usablecontainerstoreducetheoveralltrashgeneratedbyprogram.Currently,thereisarefrigeratorandamicrowavethatcanbeusedtoheatmealsoncethechildhascheckedwithsupervisingstaffonsite.

Duringlunchtimestudentshavetheopportunitytovisitwiththeirfriendsandsocialize.Parentsmayattendlunchwiththeirchildrenaswell.Lunchisfrom10:00–10:30AM10:30–11:00AMandbreakisfrom1:00to1:15PM.Allstudentsareresponsibleforcleaningthelunchareabygatheringallrecyclables,sweepingthefloors,wipingdownthetables,andthrowingawaytheirgarbage.

DailyTrackingLogs:StudentsatABIareissueddailyTrackingLogsforthepurposeofrecordingtheirmemorizationtargets,monitoringtheirprogressandpreparingforassessments.ParentsshouldchecktheTrackingLogdailyinordertobeawareofstudentlearningonadailybasis.Additionally,parentsshouldmonitortheirchild’sacademicperformancebyloggingintotheonlinegradebookonadailybasis.

3. Testing:Monthlymanziltestsareconductedonaregularbasistoassessretention.Studentsaretestedon1-2Juzbasedonstudentability.Thosewhohavedifficultywiththemonthlyareputonaweeklymanziltestplan.

Cumulativescholasticrecordsaremaintainedforeachstudent.Thefilesmayincludesuchpertinentinformationasattendancerecords,academicrecords,quarterlytests,disciplinaryreferralsandactionstaken,aswellasmedicalandhealthinformation.TheFamilyEducationalrightsandPrivacyAct(FERPA)isafederallawgoverningthemaintenanceofstudentrecords.Underthelaw,parentsofstudents,orthestudents(iftheyareatleast18yearsofage)havetherighttoinspectrecordskeptbytheschoolconcerningthestudent,andtherighttocorrectanyinaccuraciesintherecords.Accesstorecordsbypersonsotherthantheparents,thestudent,andmembersoftheschoolstaffand/orauthorizedschoolconsultants,requirespriorwrittenconsentbytheparents.Filesareshreddedwhenthestudentleavestheprogram
