Arrivée : Paris - Narita Airport (成田国際空港 Narita Kokusai Kūkō) -Tōkyō (東京)

Il faut changer le JR Exchange Order acheté en France au comptoir JR Ticket office, situéen face centre d’information voyageur, pour obtenir le JRPass, en montrant sonpasseport. Le JR Pass permet alors de voyager indéfiniment sur toutes les lignes du JR(Japan Rail, sauf Shinkansen Nozomi). Prendre la ligne de train JR East, direct de NaritaAirport Terminal 2 à Tokyo ; la ligne s’appelle Narita Express ou N’EX (ne pas prendreAirport Narita Rapid Service). Les trois premiers wagons vont vers Shinjuku, les autres seséparent et les wagons verts sont 1e classe. Avec le JR Pass, les billets de train se

prennent dans le bâtiment principal zone 1F, comptoirs B ou C.

Départ des trains N’EX de la station Terminal 2 le dimanche : 10h19, 11h19, 12h19. Il y a3 arrêts : Tokyo station 東京駅 (53 min), Shinjuku 新宿駅 (1h14min) et Ikebukuro 池袋駅 (1h19min). Descendre à Shinjuku (environ 12h33), laisser les baggages à l’hôtel (7minutes à pied de la ligne JR Yamanote 山手線).

Visite du quartier Tokyo Harajuku 原宿

Tous les weekends, notamment le dimanche, les jeunes qui veulent attirer l’attention seregroupent devant le Sanctuaire Meji (明治神宮, meiji jingū) du parc de Yoyogi (代々木公園 Yoyogu koen) dans leur style vestimentaire manga. L’accès du parc se fait par l’arrêtHarajuku (原宿 ) de la ligne JR Yamanote (山手線). Harajuku est le quartier commercial etde loisir qui attire les adolescents.

Visite du quartier Tokyo Shibuya 渋谷区

C’est un quartier d’affaire très animé et un important centre de divertissement, à unestation de Harajuku. A voir : les enseignes lumineuses de Shibuya centre, la tour 109 etsurtout le célèbre chien Hachiko 忠犬ハチ公, né en 1923, qui venait attendre son maitre,

un prof d’université, à la gare de Shibuya avec une ponctualité exemplaire. Même aprèsla mort du maitre, on vit le chien attendre tous les jours, jusqu’à sa propre mort en 1935.Sa statue est devenue un haut lieu de RDV. La tour 109 renferme une centaine deboutiques consacrées aux dernières tendances de la mode.

Jour 2 : lundi 13 août

Visite du Tokyo Tower Reprendre la ligne JR Yamanote (山手線) et descendre à la station Hamamatsucho 浜松町駅 pour atteindre la tour de Tokyo à travers le parc de Shiba 芝公園 (Temple Zozoji 三縁山増上寺). La tour fait 332,6 m soit 8,6 m de plus que son modèle, la tour Eiffel, mais elle pèsemoitié moins (4000 tonnes contre 7300 tonnes). Compter 1500 yens (10 euros) paradulte pour monter à la plateforme à 250m d’où on voit parfois le mont Fuji. D’autrestours notamment à Shinjuku, sont gratuites.

Devant le palais impérial 皇居Actuelle demeure de l’empereur, il ne se visite pas, mais vaut le détour.

Shopping à Ginza 銀座La rue des magasins de luxe, la plus chère du monde en 1980.

Roppongi Hills 六本木ヒルズQuartier branché la nuit, attirant de nombreux étrangers dans les bars, bars à hôtesses….Mais accès en métro (payant, à pied environ 1 km de JR Shibuya 渋谷区).

Le palais, Ginza et Roppongi sont desservies par métro (non JR, donc payant), mais untrajet à pied semble possible (2-3 km total).

Jour 3 : mardi 14 août

Visite du Tokyo National Museum 東京国立博物館

Reprendre la ligne JR Yamanote (山手線) et descendre à la station Ueno上野 puis compter10 minutes de marche pour atteindre le musée. Ouverture 9h30-17h00 mardi à

dimanche, 600 yens l’entrée : pour admirer une collection étonnamment variée :archéologie, peinture, sculpture, calligraphie, décoration, art du thé, sabres, tenues desamouraïs, art moderne …

Visite du quartier Tokyo Shinjuku 新宿区

À l'ouest de la station est Nishi-shinjuku (新宿駅), le quartier où se situe le gouvernementmétropolitain de Tōkyō (東京都庁舎, Tōkyō-to Chōsha ou Tōchō, la "mairie" centrale). Lebâtiment de la mairie, commencé en 1988 et achevé en 1991, formé de deux toursjumelles de 48 étages, était le plus haut de la ville (242,9 mètres) jusqu'en 2006. Il a étéconçu par l'architecte Kenzo Tange et l'accès aux deux tours est libre et gratuit.L'observatoire, à 202 mètres, permet de découvrir de très belles vues d'ensemble de l'estde Tōkyō et aussi le sud-ouest, vers le Mont Fuji (quand la météo le permet).

Le parc de Gyoen 新宿御苑 à 10 minutes à pied du métro fait côtoyer des jardins anglais,français et japonais. Le marché au poisson le plus grand du monde, Tsukiji, (築地市場

) est un peu difficiled’accès par JR, d’autant que l’animation ne vaut le détour qu’entre 5h30 et 8h30 dumatin (sans parler de l’odeur, qu’on trainera sur nos vêtements le reste de la journée !).

Ilse prend au quai Hinode ひので, 7 minutes à pied de la station Hamamatsucho 浜松町駅 du

JR Yamanote (même arrêt que la tour de Tokyo). L’arrêt d’Asakusa浅草

est directementen face du jardin Haramikyu (300 yens l’entrée), magnifique oasis de calme dans le portde Tokyo, seul jardin préservé de l’époque Edo.

Visite du temple Sensoji 金龍山浅草寺 in Asakusa 浅草L’entrée se fait par une des plus vieilles rue commerçantes du Japon (Nakamise). A 1 kmà pied de la gare Ueno, il semble intéressant d’y aller par bateau. Le temple Sensoji, trèsimpressionnant, est le plus vieux temple de Tokyo et organise le plus grand festival.

Visite du quartier Akihabara 秋葉原C’est le quartier de l’électronique, juste à la sortie

du temple Sensoji.

Visite du Mont Fuji 富士山

15000 yens transport, guide et déjeuner compris départ de la station JR Hamamatsuchopour la journée : bus jusqu’au Fuji visitor center, puis bus jusqu’à la 5e station pour ledéjeuner. Croisière sur le lac Ashi et téléphérique avant de redescendre par bus à

Odawara pour prendre le Shinkansen jusqu’à la station JRKodoma. Prix et dates non disponibles pour la période d’Aout 2007. Le Fuji Visitor Center est ouvert de 9h00 à 18h00,entrée gratuite. Il propose des vues du mont Fuji, desinformations touristiques et culturelles. Pour y accéder :prendre le JR Chuo de Yoyogi ou Shinjuku et descendre auterminus Otsuki (compter 1h00 ou 1h30). Prendre alors laligne Fujikyuko pendant 40 minutes et descendre au terminusKawaguchiko. Des randonnées existent au départ du centre,le point le plus haut atteignable en bus est la 5e station (2305m d’altitude), d’où il faut compter 5 à 8 heures de marchepour le sommet, à 3776 m, où l’air est rare et la températureen août touche les 7°C.Je propose une visite du centre, un déjeuner à la 5 e station,de faire une rando digestive de 30 minutes, puis de prendrele bus jusqu’à Hakone, histoire de faire les bains chauds

avant de repartir, puisqu’il faut compter encore 2h de trajet avant de regagner Tokyo.

Visite des bains chauds de Hakone (onsen) 箱根Les hôtels ouvrent leurs bains pour 500 yens, mais plus traditionnel est le Tenzan Tōjigō(天山湯治郷), qui offre pour 1000 yens bains chauds internes et en extérieurs, sauna… Unenavette gratuite part de la station de bus de Hakone. A voir également, le parc national

Halone-Izu pour ses fameuses sources volcaniques. Hakone est relié par train (Tozan line)

et coûte 300 yens pour les détenteurs du JRpass. Un changement à Odawara 小田原 estnécessaire pour rejoindre Tokyo en JR en 60 minutes.

Visite Kiyomizudera 清水寺 Kiyomizudera, which translates as the "Temple of Pure Water," is a popular templewith young people who come to pray for success in finding a suitable partner at aShinto shrine set inside the complex. founded in 794 when emperor Kanmumoved the capital from Nara to Kyoto, and was thus one of the earliest Buddhisttemple. To-ji literally means "East Temple", notwithstanding its location in the South-West corner of Kyoto. There once was a Sai-ji (西寺 ) or "West Temple", and bothtemples stood alongside the Rasho-mon Gate (羅生門 ), Kyoto's biggest and mostfamous gate during the Heian period (794-1185). In 818, the emperor Saga confidedthe temple to the Buddhist priest Kukai (774-835, also known as Kobo Daishi),founder of the esoteric Shingon sect. To-ji's formal name, Kyo-o Gokoku-ji, means

"protector of the nation". Its five-tiered pagoda is 57m tall, making it the highestwooden tower in Japan. It was last built in 1643 after having burned five times. Open Hours : 9am-4:30pm, Admission : 500 ¥

Home to the headquarters of the prosperous Jodo Shin-shu (True Pure Land Sect)school of Buddhism, founded in the thirteenth century by Shinran, Nishi Honganji isthe center of a vast empire of millions of followers, who believe that the chanting of "namu amida butsu" will lead to future salvation.The two halls open to visitors in the spacious compound contain wall and screenpaintings by the Kano school of artists and intricate carvings. More treasures aredisplayed in the shoin, but reservations must be made in advance. Visite Higashi Hongan Ji 東本願寺

Founded by shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa in 1602 as a rival to break the power of nearbyNishi Honganji, Higashi Honganji (literally temple of the original vow) covers a vastspace close to Kyoto Station. Visite Kinkaku Ji 金閣寺Kinkakuji is probably Kyoto's most famous and certainly most photographed templegarden. The three-story Chinese Zen-influenced Golden Pavilion has delicatelycurving roofs and the walls and eaves of the second and third stories are coveredwith fine gold leaf. On a clear day the villa is reflected in the mirror pond which lies infront of the building. The present structure, dating from 1955, is a copy of the originalbuilt in 1397 by shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu. Le pont Akashi-Kaikyo 明石海峡大橋

C’est le pont suspendu dont la portée centrale est la plus longue du monde, avec 1991m.La longueur totale du pont est de 3911m. Il relie Kobe (île Honshu) à Awaji au dessus de

la mer de Seto. Avant la construction du pont, les passagers devaient emprunter desferries. En 1955, deux ferries font naufrage dans le détroit d’Akashi pendant unetempête, provoquant la mort de 168 enfants. Le choc provoqué poussa le gouvernementà envisager la construction d’un pont qui devait être mixte à l’origine (train et auto). Laconstruction, qui commença en mai 1988 fit un pont routier à 6 voies. Le tremblement deterre de Kobe en 1995, dont l’épicentre se situait entre les deux piles du pont, étira lepont de 1990m à 1991m. Le pont fut ouvert à la circulation en 1998. Il peut supporter desvents de 80m/s (290km/h), des courants marins de 4,5m/s et des séismes de 8,5 surl’échelle de Richter.

Although the beginnings of the Fujiwara's family mid-8th century shrine are rathercloudy, it is plausible that after the capital was established at Nara that FubitoFujiwara placed the deity in the shrine, likely to protect Kofuku-ji, the clan's temple.The roof of the shrine is in the signature Kasuga-style of architecture.
