Target Audience

NOTE: This is a generic document intended as an example for customisation. [TR]Deployment staff responsible for deploying Edesix VideoBadge systems in Customer stores. Deployment staff are responsible for:

Preparing environment in target store, Deploying VideoBadge system, Providing initial internal point of contact for support.

IntroductionIn 2016, Edesix VideoBadge Body Worn Video (BWV) was successfully deployed as stand-alone systems at 4 pilot stores in a bid to reduce the rate of verbal and physical assaults. A further trial established a connected version of the BWV system – videos were automatically uploaded from the store to the Central VideoManager (located at Customer HQ).Customer intends to proceed with deployment of the connected version to fifty stores – this work will be conducted by deployment staff following training at Customer premises from the manufacturer Edesix Ltd.This document includes key elements from that training day at Customer premises and points to several additional references.

How to prepare for deployment day (section ), What we need from you to make the deployment day as smooth as possible (section ), What you can expect from Edesix on the day (section Error: Reference source not found), and How to get support after we’ve gone (section ).

Please note that this technical document does not include any Customer operational policy for BWV.

RFID Reader And CardsEvery use of a VideoBadge camera is automatically noted alongside the name of the staff-member who assigned themselves that camera. The check-out and check-in procedure is quick and simple and does not need a login to a computer. Staff-members allocate themselves a camera by swiping an RFID Reader with an RFID tag (which must be pre-registered with the VideoManager).

The system will then assign that staff-member the most appropriate tested camera (the assigned camera will flash and beep for fifteen seconds to make itself known).

How To Configure DC-200 or MicroserverWhich One To Use?The DC-200 Dock Controller and Microserver serve the same purpose – to connect a cluster of VideoBadges across the Customer Network with the Central VideoManager (HQ).

Some sites may have have low bandwidth connections to HQ, so need to use “store and forward” for the accumulation of videos (1GB per hour of recorded footage). This is provided by a Microserver. The Microserver has almost 7TB of internal file footage storage space. Videos are not automatically transferred to the Central VideoManager – they are uploaded in response to a manual request (clicking on cloud symbol) at the Central VideoManager. This greatly reduces the demand on low bandwidth network connections. Most sites (maybe all) will use a DC-200 Dock Controller – this transfers videos from docked VideoBadge cameras directly back to Central VideoManager. The DC-200 has no internal storage,

Customer Management decide the list of sites and work with deployment team to determine which sites receive a DC-200 or a Microserver (a site will use one or other, not both).

Fill in the details. In the example below- Serial for the DC-200 for Birkenhead is 303587 as shown on sticker on DC-200 (this is a fake example)- The site is Birkenhead, so call the device name after the store- Host is filled in automatically – 192.168.0.224:9080 is the location of the Central VideoManager- The Static IP for the DC-200 is to be 10.194.333.200 (this is a fake example!)- The Gateway at Birkenhead is 10.194.333.254 (this is a fake example!)

- Then press GENERATE. This will cause a file (in this case DC303587.cfg) to be downloaded to your computer.- Copy that file (in this case DC303587.cfg) to a FAT32 USB stick- Insert that USB stick into the unpowered DC-200 (use one of the pair of USB ports next to the Ethernet port)- Connect the DC-200 to the Security network with an Ethernet cable- Connect the DC-200 to the mains and power up- Connect the RFID Reader to the DC-200 (one of the two ports next to the Ethernet port)

On powering up, the DC-200 will look for a configuration file with its name on the USB stick. On finding this file, it will apply the configuration and point to the Central VideoManager.

Sanity Check: All 3 green lights on top of the DC-200 will go solid green when network connection established.Trouble-shooting step: Insert FAT32 USB stick to DC-200 and power-cycle. A networking logging file will be written to the stick in plain text format. This is invaluable in tracing the problem (e.g. bad routing, mistyped configuration, firewall port blockage).IMPORTANT NOTE: With careful planning, a USB stick (and copies for multiple teams) can be generated in advance for ALL Customer sites and greatly simplify the DC-200 deployment process.

This requires you to know in advance:1. The serial number for DC-200 going into a particular site2. The Static IP address allocated in that site for that DC-2003. The IP Gateway used for that site

How To Configure User Accounts For Local Site UsersThere are three important items to set up for each user in each site:

1. A user account for each user on VideoManager 2. RFID serial number for each user who is to self-assign a VideoBadge camera (using Customer ID)3. Define who can see videos from this site

Configure Central VideoManager with user accounts for local Site usersAdd user accounts to the Central VideoManager for local staff-members using VideoBadges or Videomanager software. Each user will have the Role: “System Operator” (to self-assign and record with Videobadges)Team Leaders must also be enabled for the Role: “Security Section Leader” (this custom Role should be renamed based on customer’s choice of job titles)

So the settings for a device operator staff-member should look like this:

Page 11

The settings for a team leader should look like this:

Register Site Staff-members ID cards for self-assigning a VideoBadgeAdd RFID serial number for each local staff-member who is to self-assign a camera – this uses staff-member’s RFID tag.To Enter the TOUCH ASSIGN ID (i.e. the RFID card serial)

- wave the staff-member’s RFID tag over the RFID reader- it will cause a red light and a “sad” beep (as it is an unrecognised card)- Click on the question mark (Search for recently failed RFID scans)

Page 13

Define who can see videos from this siteYou must configure which staff get to see which videos for this site (or else they will see none!). [NOTE: these rules will vary from customer to customer depending on their choice of workflow].The important rules for who can see videos captured at each site:

1. Non-supervisory device operator staff-members capture video but do not see it2. Team Leaders have a VideoManager login to see videos and process evidence.3. Team Leaders are only allowed to see videos generated by staff at their own site.

Steps:1. Identify list of VideoManager users at this store2. Find out who is the Team Leader (some stores might name more than one)3. Create user accounts in VideoManager4. Configure all store user accounts to AUTO SHARE with the Team Leader5. Configure the Team Leader user account to show other users at that site as SUPERVISED USERS.

Example 1: At Customer Dalkeith site (fictional):

Team Leader: Imran, in charge of three device operator staff-members: Bill, Bob and Benny

You must configure Bill, Bob and Benny’s user accounts so that all video they capture is automatically shared with Imran. You must also configure Imran’s user account so it shows he supervises Bill, Bob and Benny. Once you’ve done this, Imran will be the only Team Leader anywhere that can view videos for Customer Dalkeith.

So you would create then set up the four user accounts like this: Imran

SYSTEM OPERATOR = ON SECURITY SECTION LEADER = ON AUTO SHARE - none SUPERVISED USERS Bill, Bob and Benny

Bill SYSTEM OPERATOR = ON AUTO SHARE with Imran SUPERVISED USERS – none!

Bob SYSTEM OPERATOR = ON AUTO SHARE with Imran SUPERVISED USERS – none!

Benny SYSTEM OPERATOR = ON AUTO SHARE with Imran SUPERVISED USERS – none!
