Welcome

The Engineering Career Resource Center

(ECRC) provides career development services

to engineering, computer science and data

science undergraduate and graduate students

and recent College of Engineering alumni. The

ECRC coordinates career advising services,

career resource materials, workshops, employer

presentations, campus interviews and online job

postings. We assist with all levels of employment including full-time positions, internships

and cooperative education assignments.

The University of Michigan College of Engineering (CoE) graduates are among the best

trained and most prepared in the world. As the career liaison for students and alumni, the

ECRC provides leadership, resources and networks to link employers with highly qualified

candidates in a broad range of engineering disciplines.

We hope this guide will provide you with an overview of the many ways in which you

can partner with the College of Engineering to enhance your presence on campus.

While job postings, campus interviews and career fairs are great ways to connect with

candidates, we also welcome the opportunity to help you develop an individualized

campus recruiting strategy. In addition to recruiting information, you will find our most

recent data on the post-graduation, intern and Cooperative Education Program (Co-op)

activities of 2018–2019.

On behalf of the ECRC, we look forward to partnering with you.

I N T E R N S H I P SNon-credit internships are very popular among U-M

engineering, computer science and data science

students. Students have the opportunity to gain valuable

work experience in an engineering environment. The

assignments typically occur May through August and

may be in locations all over the world. The internships in

this publication only include those that were reported to

the ECRC.

Internships 2018–2019

COOPERATIVE EDUCATION

The optional non-credit Cooperative Education

(Co-op) Program enables undergraduate students

to apply their skills in a work setting for a longer

period of time. Ideally, a co-op is an eight-month

hands-on engineering experience, occurring either

May through December or January through

August. In addition to providing a source of

valuable talent, like internships, co-op students

offer employers an opportunity to identify qualified

candidates prior to graduation.

Internships are a great way to DISCOVER TALENT + FIND FUTURE EMPLOYEES.
